Excellent Tenured Staffers / Facilities Upgrades / Restaurants
My wife and I returned to the resort for our 6th trip down as members. Below is a list of staffers that as always, go above and beyond to provide exemplary customer service. All of the staff is very friendly and look to accommodate as best as possible. The list are employees that rise above some others.Ligia - by far absolutely one of the nicest most friendly and professional service industry persons I have met. THE BEST!Guadalupe - Super person, great communicator, very giving, exceptional servicePaul - made every effort to be sure our needs were met, hustled all day, team playerFrankie - marvelous job paying attention to every detailElena/Gonzalez/Camara/Fernando/Catalino/Gabriel/Isai/Filipe - simply exceptional people that truly care about making sure we were happy.At the Bar - Elisieo/Kuri/ Jose - each and every day we were greeted with smiles and exceptional service, always accommodating to what we asked for.Spice - I cant say enough about Carlos, this man took time each day to make his way to our table and spend a couple minutes to catch up with how everything was going and how we were doing personally. WOW! Arturo/Ivan - Great workers, nice people!Arcangel, this guy is a diamond in the rough, what great chats we had with him, very knowledgeable, super friendly and a great server.Pelicanos - Ismael was simply outstanding, great charm, very friendly efficient, a very dynamic personality all while getting his job done with a smile.Giselle - what a great smile, exceptional greeterJorge - from the first time we met Jorge we connected with him. His knowledge of the history of Mexico blew us away, what an education. Great chats with him but even better service. GREAT GUY!Poolside assistants - Ivan and David super guysActivities - Emiliano and Guillermo were great fun, super personalities. Unfortunately was not overly impressed with Chanta, seemed to have a bit of an attitude, and gravitated more to the younger crowd.Concierge - Rafa has been checking us in and out for years, very efficient at his job, good guyBell - Martin was great completing his tasks with a smileI am sorry if I missed anybody, I tried to write down as many names as possible. If I missed you this time I will be sure to remember you next time!The Facility upgrades are impressive. The new gym with infinity pool is beautiful. The new Coffee House is another great upgrade. Our room overlooked the construction of the new spa, the renderings posted outside the Members Room show a good depiction of what it will look like upon completion, exciting. My wife and I walked up one day to visit the Ziva, huge place but quite nice. It almost appears that future renovations at Zilara will match Ziva, since the jewelry shop and gift shop already mimic what is at the Ziva. I am in hopes that there are future changes to one of the restaurants at Zilara. Since my wife and I have been members we have watched Maria Maries and the adjoining "Tapas Bar" make some transitions, some good, some not so good. This is where I truly hope there is a change. Maria Maries has always had great servers, we have had many great meals and experiences there but bit by bit the quality of the fod has slipped. I am not sure if there is a transition to fine dining there or not but the attire does not dictate that. There is always somewhere to go for a secondary meal if need be at the Zilara, but that is not what I seek when going to dinner at Maria Maries. We visited last August and now have just visited. The last two dinners at Maria Maries were very disappointing at best in comparison to the years before. Bums us out a bit and hopefully there will be a change, either go French or Steak house like the Ziva, just have one restaurant in the building, not a spin off. As like all of our visits to your facility, we enjoy it greatly, and the notes I mention above are just my thoughts as a member that will return.
