Pool closed for several weeks!
Just returned from our trip, we arrived on Wednesday morning and departed Sunday morning. Basically if your planning on staying here in the next two weeks, don’t plan on swimming in the pool, it’s closed for about three weeks for renovations. When we arrived on Wednesday the pool was open, Thursday morning it was closed for renovations, totally understand that they need to work on things, but this was a planned renovation, I think it is bad business not to inform guests prior to people checking in or booking rooms during that time. Simply on principle they should let people know this, and they really have an I don’t give a hoot attitude towards the whole situation. Many people were very angry about this and rightfully so.Pros: Great bar by the pool and the bartenders were awesome, Alfonso and Fermin. Both of them were just fabulous people.Food, was pretty good overall, truly most resorts serve the same food in Cancún, they seem to do a little better job than other places we have stayed at in the area. We dined at two restaurants in the resort, the Barn for steaks and the Seafood restaurant, both were pretty good.Rooms were dated but clean, the air conditioning rocked, water pressure at least in our room was fantastic.Beach was fantastic, great beach for walking or laying out.Cons: overall the place needs a lot repairs on the exterior of the building, especially on the guest decks, painting, stucco coming off the walls and generally dirty appearance from the exterior. We only had one elevator the entire time we were there, the other elevator was out of order.WiFi, $15 per day, that is pretty pricey in my opinion, especially given that it didn’t work very well.Would I stay there again? No chance, the pool fiasco was as stated earlier just bad business, and overall appearance of the exterior is dirty and in need of serious repair.
