 Awesome Vacation
I had no issues with this resort everything was absolutely wonderful. Food was delicious, drinks were tasty and everything was clean. I always felt safe. They had security everywhere and everyone was kind and always said hello to you. I will definitely return in the future!!!

 Great Staff!!!
I stayed at the oasis hotel about 2-3 years ago, and the staff was amazing! The people who did the events (Antonio,Sebastian, & Felipe) made my vacation worth while! I hope they are still there. At night it was nice seeing the vendors, they were polite. Food was great, a lot of different options. Basically all of the staff was great! Late review, but I just had to mention it!

It was a great place full of enthusiasm. Everybody it is offering very good service inside the resort. They also know how to entertain people all the time. during the day the dj is playing games with people. During the evening he is playing good music and the resort is entertaining people on two outside scenes with many interesting and funny activities every day ( music , dancing , showing skills etc) and inside the pyramid they also have extraordinary shows everynight you can search on google for videos . Everybody is happy there and that makes you feel very good ! I will come back 100%

Week in Mexico! (Grand Oasis Plus)
Firstly, people are being crazy harsh on this resort. My buddy and I stayed in the Grand Oasis Plus room for a week in September. The view of the beach and the position on Cancun beach is stunning. When you open your curtains that view = nice (see my photos).Went during Mexican independence day and they put on a great show and decorated everywhere, super impressed.ROOM:The A/C was fine, the minibar stocked but it was pretty hard to get a hold of water a lot of the time. Like gold dust! All clean etc. The bathroom was a little dated, but clean. The only thing that sucked was the GLASS window from the bedroom area looking directly into where the toilet was. This was in every room. So if you're in bed you get a nice view of whoever is taking a dump. FOOD:They are catering en mass. The food is just fine, and the service in the sit down restaurants is generally really good. Good breakfasts, but if you have dinner at the same resort for every meal for a full vacation, you will get bored. Try the hotel zone or blue gecko tacos across the street to change it up!Breakfasts were pretty good. The steakhouse we found was shocking - i'd avoid that. The meats came coming out and all were the worst, everyone eatings face was hilariousBOOZE:Unless in the premium bars the booze is the house spirits, "blat" vodka etc. this will ensure brutal hangovers. It's all inclusive standard. The wine is undrinkable, beware.POOL AREA:Loads of different areas, relaxing places, the beach, and the main pool with the swim up bar. We nicknamed this the 'soup kitchen' for the layer of ....stuff...on the top of the water.HOTEL ZONE and TRIPS:-100% go to Isla Murjejes and rent a golf cart to drive round the island.-You can use your wristband at the other oasis hotel at the top of the zone.-The jungle adventure speedboat and snorkelling tour is great.-the clubs and bars in the hotel zone have become insanely expensive in late years and you will get approached by ticket sales multiple times and also asked if you want to buy cocaine/weed/women. Fat Tuesday cost $46 USD for two drinks and coco bongo wanted $85 USD for entry. NOPE.-La Isla shopping mall is great to see and the aquarium- Was a Cartel shooting in the real downtown (Cancun centro) we heard of, dont recommend going to downtown Cancun outside the hotel zone (2 police officers shot and laid outside the entrance to a locals shopping mall)TRANSPORT: 12 pesos (50 US cents) for the local bus anywhere on the hotel zone is a must, do not use taxis. These are safe and will get you anywhere you want to go! You wont wait more than 1-2 minutes.CAR:Our room included a day's car rental of the Oasis smart car - took that down to playa del carmen for the day. Great experience.SERVICE:Good, tip the staff when you can :) ENTERTAINMENT:Kinky nightclub is like a strip club with no stripping, amusingCoyote Loco - loud bar, occasional cool bandThe diner - full of 16 year olds from Argentina constantly. A LOT of themThe nightclub (outdoors) near the beach was where we mainly ended up, pretty fun!Don't worry, have fun, and I hope this has helped someone, somewhere.

 Family Trip - big mistAke
First of all check in service is rude and not endearing to trip advisor style bookings. Was forced to leave a $750 deposit which took over one week to release from credit card. Food here is pretty tasteless, and in small portions. Drinks are ok but there are no waiters at pool or beach areas to get them for you. No activities for family or kids to enjoy. This was the worst hotel ive ever stayed in while in Cancun. Will never return to this place or any of its affiliate locations. Big regret.

 Shooting on the beach
I just returned from our stay at the Grand Oasis Cancun for a friends wedding. On Sunday 9/25/17 in broad daylight a man was murdered on the beach in front of a nearby resort. My wife was collecting seashells and I was just beginning to wade into the surf when we heard several pops like firecrackers. The woman near me dropped flat on the ground. Seeing this I did the same still not knowing exactly what was going on. I then turned and looked at my wife and told her to get down as she was starting to get back up. Several more shots rang out, with some apparently landing in the sand near my wife as she saw "puffs of sand" flying up right in front of her face. I then yelled for her to run and we both scrambled as fast as we could towards the steps of our hotel. In addition to almost getting shot there was a large fire at our reset that burned a large portion of unoccupied rooms and shut down several restaurants and entertainment venues. This also made us feel unsafe as the fire safety protocols at the Grand Oasis does not appear sufficient. When the fire broke out one of our friends, thinking the building was occupied with a large number of teenagers he had seen hanging out outside of the building the prior night, grabbed one fire hoses that are on the walls and hooked it up to the water pipe for just such an emergency. When he turned the valve to start putting water on the fire there was no water supplied to the pipe and hose connection. If the fire had broken out in an occupied portion of the resort I am certain there would have been fatalities. We also ended up losing water to our building after this fire until about 2pm the next day. Some restaurants also appeared to not have water supplied to their building. We saw a regular routine of resort employees scooping 5 gallon pails of water from the pool and bring them down to the basement of the restaurants. When I asked why they said the water was for flushing the toilets. But if the water is out in the building how are they performing food safely? We also did not see any of these buckets in the restrooms when my wife or I used them. Needless to say we avoided the restaurants in this building. I hope that this will help to better inform others to the potential safety issues in Cancun. It is only a matter of time before a tourist is killed by the increasing violence. Thankfully my Wife and I are home safe. After 6 trips to Cancun and the Riviera Maya area, we will not be returning. There are plenty of other beautiful places to visit without having to worry about getting hit by stray bullets.

 Would not recommend
The resort is large with many options for entertainment and food. The entertainment was great always. The food at most restaurants were sub-standard. Very poor quality food with poor presentation. The service was not always good. We checked in through VIP which took almost 1 hour, our room was not ready when we arrived. No explanation given. We never got our FREE rental car allocated to us since they said we needed a security fee of $500 per room. (we had 4 rooms)Would not recommend.

 The staff was amazing
The resort had the best beach facilities. The staff was great, especially Ceasar who was the best bartender. He entertained our group (60 people) for the whole week we were there. I would recommend the resort for young adults who want to party while staying at a confortable resort.

Amazing vacation! loved the service of this hotel
we had a beach front hotel and omg it was amazing! truly beautiful and excellent house keeping :) My husband and I were blown away with Valentin from the Brazilian restaurant. His service to us was excellent and he never let our drinks get low and made sure we tried all the meat! We also had excellent service from Jose in the bar from the mexican restaurant by the pool he welcomed us very well from the beginning and we seriously appreciate it. Its people like them that make us want to go back. Thank you so much to the staff everyone was super helpful. We had an amazing honeymoon!

 Comfortable Room but LOUD
I am a travel agent, so enjoy booking a new trip every time I go. Cancun is definitely not one of my favorite places to go; HOWEVER, if you like the crowds, excitement, parties, and lots of activities, Cancun just might be the place for you. With an open mind, I can honestly say that I would not recommend this particular hotel. Although it was clean, had nice pools and beaches, it was just too noisy. The food was not fantastic - very little selection on buffets. The location is good for Cancun ... easily catch a bus ($1 USD) each way to downtown Cancun for shopping and local restaurants. Nice way to spend the day if you want to get away from the resort.

 Would never recommend
The food was terrible, we paid for all inclusive and went out to eat. Room service was terrible, had to wait all day just to get water in our room, some days no water or hand towels at all. You could never get new beach towels. The liquor was completely watered down. I would not recommend this property and wish we stayed somewhere else. The staff at counters barely greeted you or even looked up to acknowledge you. so unimpressed.

 It was just Ok
Our trip was ok at while at the resort.(could be better with minor changes an upgrades) Our check in was quick staff was nice. We had the grand plus which is no major difference in regular bands. The food an drinks were not tasteful at all. its tasted like a cheap buffet food. Only 2 restaurants were ok good enough to eat. Tankish for breakfast and the steak restaurant forgotten name. The resort grounds are beatutiful an well manicured very clean everywhere. Our room was hot even after telling them ac just did not blow good enough. The pools are several plenty of space i enjoy seeing kid pool set up very safe an big. Our mini fridge never was cold so everything remained hot an undrinkable. We had a problem with our door which they fixed very quickly. The beach is very clean an dj was great all through out resort. We were a group of 6 women in between 29.-30 we were not impressed with resort an will stay someone else for more money.

 All around pretty good trip
After reading reviews on this resort, I was really worried When we got there, it is beautiful!! The staff was very helpful. Sandra and Xavier took care of us. A special thanks to the excellent service by Juan and Armando during the circus performance!! They were amazing and so was the show. Lots to do, rooms clean, staff friendly, lots of pool area beautiful view. The only thing I can complain about is the food was not really that good. A couple of the restaurants were good but the buffetts lacked. Several very good shows and lots of entertainment! Over all I am extremely satisfied and would go back!!

 A perfect honeymoon
10 days of absolute bliss. The grand oasis is a beautiful place the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The complex is spotless and the rooms are excellent. The food was excellent with a massive range and it's only a bus ride from downtown Cancun. I can't think of anything to say that was bad. It was a perfect holiday

 Better then I thought!
From reading the reviews prior to vacationing, I thought I was going to be disappointed. I was happy with my services and the staff! Just a few things that got you a four star and not a five. Something was being fixed in the room next to us. I was in the middle of studying and all I can hear was the banging. Also, every now and then I would see a roach. Yes, in our room. There wasn't much entertainment but it was very relaxed and calm. The view from our balcony was amazing! Check-in was fast "I'm guessing no one was traveling because of the hurricanes" Staffs were nice and helpful. I'll definitely stay again!

 Nice spot and staff
Hotel staff was very good and friendly, and hotel has a lot to offer inside so that you never get bored, entertainment is the strongest point. The food is also very good, but sometimes (especially in the morning you have to queue). The major drawback is the mold, all my luggage was smelling mold and it took me several washings to get rid off the smell.

 Better than I expected!
I came to Grand Oasis with low expectations due to the bad reviews i read on here. I stayed at this resort for 5 days and 4 nights with my fiancé and another couple. We arrived too early for check in to our rooms so they gave us our wristbands early to let us enjoy the resort services. When it was finally time to check in to our rooms, check in only took 10-15 minutes and we got a free upgrade from the grand package to the grand PLUS package with free wifi! Our room was freezing cold and the AC worked just fine. Most of the time we didn't even turn it on because the room was cool enough. The toilet flushed and never clogged or overflowed but the bathtub did take awhile to drain, which didn't really bother me. The mini fridge wasn't always restocked, but when I told our concierge someone came to restock it. The hallways were never noisy and there was usually a concierge in the front of the building. The resort was always clean and well kept. There was a bar around every corner and a lot of restaurant and entertainment options. The food wasn't amazing but it was decent for all-inclusive. We never got sick from any of the food or alcohol. They also had a casino in the resort that was open 24 hours which kept us entertained for several nights. The staff throughout the resort were friendly, provided excellent customer service, and never expected tips from us, but we still tipped them anyway. I think all the bad reviews that people posted might be for Oasis Lite rooms and package because I had an overall great experience with my grand plus package. I would definitely stay here again and I have already recommended Grand Oasis to friends.

Nice view, great food, good service.
I had been here last year but just day time visited, not staying here at that time. This time we decided to stay here to follow hour dream. Yes, we love it because of varieties of dining and activities. Like their restaurants, the White Box, Careyes, Maki Taco, but not Benazuza... If you like to try Benazuza , I recommend to try the original Benazuza one at Grand Oasis Sens... much more better,, not to rush you to finish the meal. Location is great for the hotel, nice view. But my refrigerator is not cold in my room, and air conditioner is not working so well.I would like to give them 4.5 starts but because of 2 things as mention ....

 Excellent 4 night stay
First off I was extremely hesitant to stay here based on the reviews. I am so glad we came. It is not a 5 star resort, it is an older resort needing a few repairs, nothing that bothered us. It appears they are working on repairs. It was extremely safe, saw plenty of security around the whole place. Drinks were plentiful and good. It was very clean and comfortable. Rooms were great!Check in and out was quick and so easy. Food was good. EVERYONE was super friendly!

 STAY AWAY!!!
The resort is in bad shape! Old, rusty, smells horrible and the staff are not friendly (except the housekeepers, custodians and waiters). Anyone in front desk, concierge or what not will make it clear that they are not taking pleasure in offering you some type of assistance. We stayed in room 1406, the room smelled like mold, the air conditioner leaked all night, the TV didn't work nor had a remote control, the freezer in the room was as hot as a microwave, the safe didn't work (we were told we had a safe when we checked in, when we complained it wasn't working we were told we had to pay $12 per day for the safe. We felt robbed before even using it ahahaha), the doors don't lock from the inside, and the patio doors don't lock either. We called multiple times to complain and only on the last day we got a remote control (but the TV still didn't work), the freezer, AC and issues with doors were never fixed. On the last day we came in our room thirsty for bottled water to find none. I went after water only to find that the resort had no more bottled water (WHAT A JOKE). FOOD: Hit or miss This is the first time I stay in an all inclusive where we have to wait in line for over 45 minutes in order to be seated. Most of the times we were seated but had to eat in 95degree type of weather because the AC seems to no work anywhere you go. The buffet is disgusting to be quite frank. The whole room smells rotten and it is very HOT. We were only told of the opening of a second buffet after we complained of the smell to one of the housekeepers. She whispered to us that there was another buffet on the other side of the resort. It almost sounded like she wasn't supposed to tell anyone about it. SHOWS: They call themselves the entertainment resort but how are guests supposed to watch any of the shows in the heat. THE AIR CONDITIONER IN THIS RESORT IS A PROBLEM!!! All you see is people fanning themselves because the heat is ridiculous. IF YOU ARE TRAVELING WITH FAMILIES: Stay AWAY (PLEASE STAY AWAY) This resort needs to seriously consider deciding weather they are catering to family or party goers. If you are traveling with families know that you will see things that are scary and not appropriate to the eyes of little ones. People drink until they are wasted (at one point there was someone passing out in the morning in the pool and security guard was laughing, he only did something after we threatened to look for help ourselves). The women get drunk and dance showing their parts. We took a strolll at the beach at night to see turtles only to be approached by people high and offering us drugs (we were very scared). There is no security near the beach at night so don't go. Kids club is a joke. We tried putting the kids there a few times and at first were told the kids couldn't stay because the whole side of the building had no electricity so there was no AC. We were told to go back an hour later. Another woman was there and now the excuse was that it was too hot that day and they have no AC so they can't stay in the game room unless they want to play with them outside (our kids are 12, 10 and 9) making masks in the heat is not a fun activity for them (I don't think for anyone for that matter as the 1 child there was sweating his heart out). There are no activities by the pool for the children like in other resorts. CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT: Lousy At check in our attendant (Manuel) didn't even look us in the eye. He was quick and sent us off to our room without telling us where it was. He also forgot to send our bags to our room so we had to call for it. This is a huge resort so I can't even believe he sent us off without any instruction or map. We asked the nice woman next to him and she helped us. He saw the whole interaction and didn't apologize once. Check out was slow motion. Again, the attendant didn't look at us, didn't ask how our stay was nor said good morning (4AM). He wasn't wearing a name tag so I can't tell you what his name was. Behind us was a line full of unhappy guests and this gentleman was the only one at the desk. ROOM SERVICE: Don't expect room service unless you want to pay $12 per delivery. WIFI: They tell you first that there is no WIFI free of charge but then the family traveling with us got free wifi for 7 days and advised us to call and request that too. We did! We went to the 5th floor business center and got a pass. My question is, why do you ask people to pay first and then give it to others for free??????My advice is, complain and get it free!!! Don't just pay because they clearly don't have a rule of thumb (some people pay others don't). POOLS: It is true that this is probably the biggest pool in all Cancun but having a big pool doesn't mean you have the best pool. They can't maintain the pool. The water is a furnace (if you need to refresh yourself use the shower because you will feel hotter after going in the pool). The water tastes disgusting and the tiles are all coming out (I actually cut my toe while in their pool and waited for over an hour for a bandaid that never showed up). We have stayed at the Great Parnassus before, the Royal, and Crown and I must warn you. This hotel needs to be shut down and rebuilt. They need to do serious training with their staff and they need to change their name!!! Please stay away!!! To you Grand Oasis: Don't just respond with an automatic answer or with the same answer you give every unsatisfied guest. It is not true that you take these comments seriously because had I listed to the ones going back a couple years, I would have stayed somewhere else. Take the time to know your guests and improve on your service. I hope to never see you again...

Doesn't honor bookings made, otherwise good
Me and a friend booked a 2 bed room but when we got there they put us in a 1 king bed room. Staff said there were no 2 bed rooms available and stuck an uncomfortable small rollaway bed in the room. As we are both tall it led to uncomfortable nights of sleep. So don't expect to get what you book. Otherwise staff was always friendly, and the good ranged from okay to good. Beautiful beach, however it didn't seem like all the nightlife promised per the schedules provided was open as advertised. For example the beach bar was not open on Sunday. Also pool closes earlyish so you can't get in after 8pm.

 Worst nightmare
Please read this review before you book your vacation at the Grand Oasis in Cancun! My husband and I had the worst experience of our lives while staying at this resort. My husband and I walked to our room the first night after we arrived after one of their shows and my husband decided to go get something to eat at their 24 hour snack bar quickly and come back. I fell asleep and woke up to a phone call from security who found my husband unconscious and injured and they needed me to go get him. When I arrived my husband was obviously in need of medical attention and all they offered was a wheel chair and a couple of water bottles. I begged their staff to call an ambulance and they refused, and told me I could take a taxi to the hospital. Desperate and in need of medical attention I took a taxi to a hospital where my husband finally woke up 6 hours later not remembering what had happened! He woke up with fractures to his face and neck and spine injuries. The last thing he remembers is walking back to our room with food. The hotel staff changes their story each time. At this point all we want is an apology for what happened on their property because we paid for security and our safety! My husband was severely injured on their property! I'm sad that what we hoped to be a beautiful vacation turned out to be a nightmare. We were also approached by several men on the beach attempting to sell us drugs, I am not sure if this has any connection but we kept telling them no and asked them to leave us alone. Please stay away! We just want to share our story and prevent this from ever happening to anyone else, because no one deserves to go through what we went through.

Nice beach, room and excellent service
Stayed 4 nights at Grand Oasis CancunBeach was very nice, shallow and clean. They clean sea weeds everyday. Unfortunately it rained for two full days. Room was very nice and spacious. Restaurants and choice of food was very good. Since I have some strict dietary restrictions (not whole family) I asked for special food and they were able to accommodate that. We went to the two formal restaurants for dinner on two days. My wife and daughter and really enjoyed Michelin star gourmet food and set ups. They need advance reservations. Buffet place also has plenty of choice. Wine was good quality. We enjoyed swimming in the pool also. It was kept very clean. Overall, it was a very enjoyable short trip and we would like to go there again. This is our second time to an Oasis hotel in Cancun. First trip was nine years ago.

 1st time in Mexico
Grand Oasis Cancun hotel was a great stay. Ocean view was definitely worth the stay. The hotel is clean and the cleaning staff is attentive. It rained 3 out of 4 days there and the staff worked to ensure the floors were safe. The food is like resort food.

My 2ndtime here, not near as good as the 1st one
I got married in this hotel 5 years ago and I really liked the hotel, but this time, I was very disappointed because of 3 main reasons:1. At night people started screaming and nothing was done about it. I supposed that some guys went out to party, and when they came back to the hotel, they wanted to continue partying. Plus another group of guys was right next door, not as noisy as the other ones, but still noisy. The next day I went to ask for a different building, because this was not just a room problem. I has to speak to 4 different people from the hotel, that told me to go tell someone else.. until I spoke to the last one she told me: "I cant give you another room, we're booked". This was September and the hotel obviously wasn't booked. If I had to guess, I would say that they were at 10 or 20%. I asked for another option, and she said: "there's nothing I can do about it, you will just have to deal with it".2. The hotel is very pretty, but they have leaks everywhere, in restaurants, in bars, even in our room. We had to put towels on the floor. I saw tens of people slip, I almost fell.3. Half of their personnel are not even a little bit polite, they act like if it was their hotel and they were doing you a favor. This WAS one of my favorite hotels in Cancun, but it looks like they've stop caring about their guests. They have delicious food, great looking restaurants, pool and beach.. but their overall service is terrible.

 Cool Place
Overall The Grand Oasis Cancun was a descent place to visit. The sights are amazing. The drinks are very sweet. Selective amount of restaurants but after 11, the selection is very slim. It's not too far from the other attractions but it's further than most.More

 Disappointed!
Requested a double bed, when we got there they only had one bed in the room. The quality of the food is very poor. The air conditioner was leaking. I informed to front desk and they send someone to fix it but it still continued to leak. Poor customer service!

 Good, but could be better
Room service was the best, all the ladies were very nice, but the security nighth guards were terrible, and there was water dropping from the ceiling everywhere. The food service was amazing as well. Most of the workers were nice over there.More

I will come back, but maybe to another hotel
I booked my trip through travelocity, and according to them the safe box would be included. However, the hotel charged me $34.00 per 6 days to have it. The representative at the hotel told me that expedia lied me about that, because I had to pay for the safe locker

I wish I would have stayed somewhere else!
This low review is strictly based on the condition of our room. The service itself from the employees was great, sometimes decent. I would give that 3.5 starsThe food was similar to the service. Decent, sometimes great. 3.5 stars for the food. The room we had was horrible. The AC unit never worked the entire time we were there. We complained and asked to get moved. Even offered to pay for an upgrade for the entire stay, but they said they were booked that might. Told us to come back the next day and they would set a room aside for us. Went back the next day and no one knew about our issue. The gentlewomen trying to assis us was nice and respectful, but still didn't help. 3 nights in, our toilet was leaking out into the room. They brought us extra towels to control the leaking but never fixed it nor offered to change our room.

 Fun in the sun
It's a great all inclusive. It rained on the weekend but the sun is out and we're drinking beers on a warm beach with blue, turquoise Caribbean sea in front of us. Just un front of the hotel there's a cool little hut of a bar called the Blue Gecko wich I aldo highly recommend. Good times!

  "Nothing Grand About It"
This Place Is A Joke! Some friends and I flew out for Labor Day weekend and this is the place they picked and we just split the total cost (going to question trusting their judgment again lol) First major issue I had was 3 people are paying to stay in a room there is a maximum two device allowance for wifi. You can't rotate devices once you've logged on the first to connect is the only device you can use. So me being the last person to fly in I was SOL with no wifi the entire weekend I'm paying to stay in a room. The rooms are super small for the prices they cost. They also need to renovate sooner than later... The view was beautiful off of the balcony... this was by far my most enjoyable part of my trip sitting outside the balcony and looking at the waves and hearing the water. After surviving Hurricane Harvey the last thing I wanted to see when I got off the plane was rain, but I get it they can't do anything about rain. However, I'm trying to eat my food and rain water and dirt are in the indoor restaurants up to my ankles... Horrible. Mostly everywhere in the resort were leaking from the ceilings or water was coming in under the door. There were buckets almost everywhere and towels laid all over the floors and stairs for hours sometimes even the whole day without being changed. The Red Circus performance that's supposed to be "daily" in the main center, never performed the whole time I was there. They have 17 bars, yes it's true but all but one bar closes after 6:00pm and it's cheap cheap liquor. They do not offer alcohol besides beer in room mini bar, the liquor around the resort is not premium and there is not lots to choose from when you do go to a bar. A man came to restock our bar and we three each asked for a bag of chips and he told us ONLY ONE BAG OF CHIPS PER DAY PER ROOM. The steakhouse is the best restaurant on the resort hands down. The other food is pretty resort standard besides the sports bar, their food was awful. The beach is average but the water was nice and didn't have much seaweed. The staff aren't very knowledgeable, helpful, or friendly (unless you're a woman in a tight bathing suit then the men staff are a bit more eager to help) about anything most of their answers were "that's handled by an outside company call this number if you need assistance" All in all I would not recommend this place I will never be back! I don't even want to stay in Cancun anymore after that experience smh.

 Housekeeping steals things!! Stay away!!!
HOUSEKEEPING STEALS THINGS and HOTEL COVERS IT UP!!Housekeeper Graziela stole my jewelry and manager Edith lied to my face about it and together with the hotel covered it up!!!I stayed in Grand Oasis Cancun for a week to celebrate my Birthday on Aug 31, 2017. On my birthday turned out that my necklace went missing. The hotel started investigation assuring me that everything will be fine. After the «investigation» turned out that the access to my room had housekeeping GRAZIELA who claimed that she didn`t steal it (of course). The hotel asked me for a day to figure things out in order to let me know how to proceed. After a day, the response was the same: «Wait until tomorrow until we clear things up». The answer was the same the day after that too. They were just trying to get rid of me until it was time for me to check out, so I demanded to speak with the manager. The hotel manager EDITH was afraid to talk to me and refused, saying on the phone that she needs to speak with the director of the hotel first. The next day I practically had to chase her. Finally, she talked to me saying that the hotel director was on vacation (of course) and that he`ll be back the next day. This situation had been going on for 4 days. Finally, Edith scheduled a meeting with me the day before my departure to discuss the refund for the missing jewelry. She did not show up for the meeting. The hotel employees who btw do not speak English were google translating the phrase «sorry, Edith left work early». Edith the manager lied to my face about the refund and the meeting. In fact, I`ve been lied to for 6 consecutive days by multiple hotel employees stating that «everything will be fine» and that we will discuss refund. On the last day when Edith «left work early» I was told that the hotel can`t help me and I was accused of lying about the stolen jewelry.Stay away from this hotel!! They steal things and cover up their employees!!While I was there, another tourist got mugged in his own room. Some guys entered his room, beat him up and took his wallet and phone. The tourist was walking around the hotel property asking for help, but no one was able to speak English and no one helped him. I showed him the way to the restaurant where he thought he could find his friend he was staying with.STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! It`s not safe! They steal! They lie! They harass! They violate privacy! And the hotel director knows about it and covers it up! Don`t take your kids there, it`s unsafe!!!

Weather you have a good time or not is up to you.
First off this is going to be long. Also remember this is an entertainment\party hotel. So this was my first all inclusive experience. I was very nervous going into this vacation due to reading negative reviews prior. I will start off by saying you get what you pay for. If you pay more then you get more. I purchased the Plus package and paid a very reasonable price in my opinion. First impression was amazing! The grounds are BEAUTIFUL and very well maintained. We booked through JetBlue and all of our shuttling and excursions were taken care of by Lomas. For our excursion to Tulum and Coba we were taken care of by Raimundo. He was The Best!!! He was very knowledgeable and funny. Ok the Hotel its self. Check in and Out- When was arrived for check in we were immediately taken care of. The staff was polite and attentive. It took about 20 min for out check in. Check out took 5 min. Room: Our room was cleaned and re-stocked everyday. We had turn down service about 4 out of the 7 days we were there. The missed days were our fault because we were in the room. The air conditioner did not work as well as it did in our friends rooms but worked enough that we were never uncomfortable. There was a some drip coming from the air conditioner. This drip did not bother us. With the amount of humidity can see why there was a drip. Grounds: BEAUTIFUL and well maintained. Concierge: Our concierge was Luis and He was AMAZING!!!! He was very polite and attentive and helped make our experience memorable. All hotel staff was polite the entire time. Food: Remember we had the plus wristband so out of the restaurants that we could go to the best ones were the Rodizzio steakhouse and the Tapas place. The lower end places were a little weird. The was a disconnect between whoever wrote the menu versus the cooks cooking the food. One night we had pizza at Joy's and the pizza its self was very good but the ingredients were not what was specified on the menu. I ordered what would be a margarita pizza in the states plus onion. Instead of getting basil I got chopped up lettuce. So my advice to the Hotel would be to make sure your cooks have where is specified on the menu so they can successfully execute the meal.Tipping: I have been in the service industry for most of my life so tipping is a must for me. I realize yes you paid an all inclusive amount but in my mind that is NOT including the tip. You tip any server in the states so why would you not tip here for service. These people work very hard for their money and deserve a tip. This is how I tipped. I left $2-3$ on the bed in the morning for the housekeeper and $2 at night for the turn down service. I left $1 in the fridge for the person that fills it everyday which is different from your house keeper. I tipped more when I wanted extra bottles of water. I tipped $1 for every drink at the bar. Due to I received top notch service. I left on average $5 on the table at dinner time. I think most people do not tip so because I did I received top notch service everywhere I went. If you don't have a problem tipping in the states then you shouldn't have a problem here. A few extras you can bring is a reusable cup for drinks and pool floaties. IF you are sensative to noise bring ear plugs or a sound machine. I have a sound machine app and slept like a baby.

 Girls trip to Cancun
My best friend and I have recently stayed at Grand Oasis Cancun and cannot speak highly enough about our whole experience! We had the absolute best time, the staff are above expectation and are very attentive. Everyone is out to make sure you have the best time possible and we certainly did. The staff at Sarape restaurant Juan, Pablo, Jose, Alejandro were all amazing and so kind to us. A resort full of life and muchos tequila haha, we would be back in a heartbeat. Great value for money & gorgeous resort - not to mention the most beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea! Thanks for having us Grand Oasis!

 Not Happy
I stayed at this resort and it was not what I expected. The food was not good at all! The best food that I had was when I went off of the resort. When it comes to asking the staff questions NO ONE was on the same page. My best friend and I asked about the fish spa and one staff member stated that they did not provide that when in fact they did. We asked about several hotel amenities and we never got a correct answer. Our room was dirty. The floor was not mopped, there was dirt caked in the corners. Blow dryer did not work in fact both outlets in the bathroom did not work. The bedding was moist to the point that my best friend and I slept on towels underneath the sheets. Our safety lock box was clearly altered not to work so we had to yet again waste our vacation waiting for someone to fix it. We called once and the staff member never showed up to the room. The next morning I had to personally walk someone to my room in order to fix the problem. This resort is for people that do not care where they sleep or what they eat. I will not be staying at this resort ever again.

Great if you're going to party
This hotel is excellent if you're going to party! They have a lot of activities for young adults such as sensual shows at Kinky, a nice bar/club called Coyote Loco, Casino, Havana Night Club which playa great salsa music, they also have night club promoters offering you packages to go out dancing. I travelled with my girlfriend and 3 children, so there was no partying! For children this hotel is not the best. However there are nice pools all around the hotel, nice little fast food court at the placita, really good à la carte restaurants. Good buffets as well. The beach is nice, strong waves. Negatives: No free wifi which is ridiculous nowadays since every country I have been too always offers complementary wifi. There is a smoothie bar which never seems to have all the ingredients. The week we were there they pretty much just offered juice. They never had granola, or mangos, sometimes even bananas...The buffet often runs out of clean plates. When you check in, they never have tour room ready. You usually have to return at 15:00 in order to pick up your key. The problem is there is often a long line up. Rooms: room are a big mess. They need a couple renovations to be done. Our first room we had no running hot water and AC didn't work. They fixed the hot water but couldn't fix the AC. The next day they changed us to a smaller room. But at least the AC and hot water worked. However the doorknob was broken and often didn't read the access key. Also there was a lot of mold in the bathroom ceiling. The pool. Ara are aways jammed. The barmen seem overwhelmed by all the people who want drinks. Overall, I think that a couple of little renovations would help the hotel a lot. I mean it's not the fanciest hotel, but all you really need is a decent room with AC to sleep in. But it is a great place to go with your friends and party at their beach club or one of their night clubs.

The food was mediocre at best. Cheap alcohol.Everything about this place was disgusting except for the beach.

Don't come here unless you have the most expensive package upgrade
We are currently staying here and me and my friend have never felt more like peasants in our life. We have the purple bands on an can only eat at five restaurants. It's ridiculous. The staff look at you like dirt if you have the purple bands on. You have to wait so long to get served as the people with higher grade wrist bands will get served first. That's disgusting, we all paid to eat here we should all be treated equally. We can hardly get into any bars. We are having to go off the resort to eat which is more money we have to spend as ALL INCLUSIVE at this hotel certainly is NOT all inclusive. If it wasn't for the guests we made friends with here that are making the holiday fun it would be rubbish. Would never stay here again because of how much money we paid and how little we can do in this hotel !!!!!!

 got sick while at resort
Got sick from drinking the water or something, hotel leaked water into our room when it rained. Food was not good, very few of the help spoke English. Beach was good, Pool was good. The room was suppose to have two double beds and only had one I had to share a bed with my daughter.

 Great facilites and entertainment
The facilities and entertainment was good. But room was noisy all day long. The quality of the food and drinks is very low. All inclusive of watery drinks and not so good food. The only restaurant I enjoyed the food was the italian one. The A/C at the 24hr American diner was broken and it was hotter inside the restaurant than outside. Service very slow due to understaffing. The lines for the breakfast were very long and they said it wasn't high season. In high season this must be horrible. Only two restaurants open for breakfast in the enormous resort. The guys from the Aqua watersports tours were amazing! Provided excellent service. The spa facilities and service were excellent as well.

 First time in Cancun!
Traveled here with my boyfriend at the time (now me Fiance) he proposed on the last night there :) , it was a birthday trip for him. The hotel is beautiful , everyone is soooo nice!!My cons about the hotel , are that the bathtub didn't work only the shower part , the tv is all in Spanish so we couldn't watch anything because we couldn't understand it. At one of the pool bars the guys making the drinks were sooooo rude!! Then ALL THE DRINKS TASTE LIKE WATER!! They are not strong what so ever , no matter how strong you tell them to make it , it isn't going to happen lol. Then the food is bad , like legit bad. I expected a little better but omg , it was not good at all. The only place that had descent food was the hippie chic grill , other than that NO! My stomach was hurting every time after I ate for some reason I ended up in the bathroom every other 15 minutes. I got all inclusive for 6 days and it was NOT worth it , I wouldn't reccomend anything other than the black plus band , you will get higher end food and drinks which I wish I would've known from the beginning. But there's a first time for everything lol. And last but not least , everyone that works there pretends that they do not have any US dollars to give you change but they are lying!! So bring all your money literally in cash and all in US dollars nothing more than $10 bills. Bring singless!!! If I had a chance to go there again I wouldn't but it was a great first time experience.

 Not what I expected
The hotel has the potential to be 4-5 star If it was kept up, but I'm sorry to say it is not. Cons: The balcony to my room was dirty, I couldn't even go out there. I saw vomit in the pool multiple times, no one came to clean it. The covers to the pool chairs were extremely dirty. The food was horrible. I wasn't aware that depending on your band color you can't get in certain restaurants on the facility. Pros: the beach was beautiful, the room was clean, comfortable bed, friendly staff.

 One of the best times!
We recently tool a girls trip staying at the Grand Oasis. We were impressed by the beauty of the resort, pools and the beach all very nice and clean! The bars were wonderful, we spent lots of time at them :) we did only do the lite package, for future reference we would definitely upgrade for a little more to do around the resort. All in all for the price we couldnt beat it! Wonderful time! Thanks for the memories!

Hell on Earth Avoided....PLEASE DO THE SAME!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
Let me start off by saying I am a VERY traveled person in Cancun with multiple trips under my belt there! I LOVE Cancun and would, and have, traveled there on the whisper of a suggestion....HOWEVER....I HAVE STAYED AT THIS JOKE/SHAM/FALLACY/RIP-OFF/CON HELL-HOLE of a "place" before due to having to dumb it down for cost and another party...AND WOULD NEVER EVEN SEND THE WORSE PERSON YOU COULD POSSIBLY IMAGINE TO THIS PLACE!!!!!!Backdrop: Friends were planning bachelor party for buddy to which Cancun was the optimum destination. Myself, trusting the planner, allowed the best man to arrange accommodations for our stay. Weeks later, while all of us out, we were given our resort destination several days prior to departure. Upon reviewing where we were staying...I realized it was THIS DISGUSTING PIT!!!!! I immediately informed them of my horrible stay years prior and REFUSED to stay there, stating I would rather remain at the airport...unshowered or shaven and still get the win cause I would not come home with some form of undiscovered disease or worse (what could be worse than simply walking onto this resort...I dare not fathom)! They informed me the money could not be returned and the reservation could not be cancelled. Not that I'm wealthy....but I thanked him for his efforts...and booked ANOTHER resort, wishing them luck! As the groom really wanted to spend his first day of 5 there, I agreed to bite the bullet and stay....ONE DAY before leaving to my resort!!!!! Days went by and I begged them to do whatever was needed to get out of the deal with Satan...but unfortunately they could not!Current: Well...I stayed my ONE night at this bomb and seen nothing had changed in my absence over the years...I can't believe I witnessed everything I had practically seen prior in one day. I can officially say Cancun has treated me very well...AGAIN...and "I" had a BLAST! My party (thank I left behind...sorry dudes) on the other hand...HATED there stay here!!! All the while when we weren't together, I received texts from each of them stating the following had taken place at the Oasis:1. 3 hours to check into their rooms (I witnessed)2. absolutely wrong rooms given and staff did nada to fix it (I witnessed)3. NO AIR CONDITIONER AT ALL IN ANY ROOMS! (not an exact statement..."You would be better to have a person with bad breath blow on you!" was the EXACT statement used) (I witnessed)4. food made three of them vomit shortly after consumption (I ate out)5. pool had a constant urine smell (did not go to)6. they had to shower in gross brackish water (I witnessed)7. staff could care less about their complaints8. constantly being offered drugs when walking on the resort by what's believed to be either staff or just random localsThey even stated they met with multiple people who had the same experiences and thought of starting a Grand Oasis Cancun support group. Of course these are just some of the problems they faced while at this garbage pit!!!! While listening to this, the painful images and memories of my past trip began to return. To end, this place should be leveled and condemned! It is an absolute lie and you will notice at the end of this review at some point, some lame attempt to produce a response will be posted saying things like, "Dear blah....first we want to thank you for taking the time to write this review and are sorry for not meeting your expectations...your input will be sent to the proper channels as we take pride in helping our guests...this helps us improve...blah, blah, blah". I'm sure they do the "copy and paste" thing over and over!My advice....DO NOT STAY HERE....E V E R! THERE IS NO "OASIS" OR ANYTHING "GRAND" ABOUT THIS PLACE! THE ONLY "GRAND" IS THE AMOUNT THEY CHARGE YOU TO STAY AT WHAT THEY TRICK YOU INTO BELIEVING IS AN ACTUAL STARRED RESORT (resort used very loosely) AND THE "OASIS" IS WHEN YOU LEAVE!!!!!!*management....you may now paste your lame overused apologetic response here*

 Long awaited vacation
The Grand Oasis was great right from the start. We had the grand plus package check in was quick the staff were all friendly. Our room was clean and the mini bar and sheets and towels were restocked every day. The food was good. breakfast at the Buffet was excellent as well as the Italian themed restaurant. The place is huge and the grounds and landscaping are in pristine condition. Can't understand all the bad reviews. If your expecting Gordon Ramsey to cook for you table side then this isn't the place for you. I rate the food from good to excellent. We loved the place and can't wait to go back.
