Spacious for price
I wanted to stay at a location close to the beach but also close to town. This location is across the street from a public beach with great snorkeling and swimming. The bus stop to go into town is directly across the street. The hotel advertises itself as a non-smoking hotel, but when I checked in, there were cigarette butts on the balcony and in a bottle cap used as an ash tray. During my stay, the balcony was never cleaned. Eventually, a rainstorm washed the cigarette butts onto the balcony floor. Planter boxes on the balcony contained dead plants that appeared never to have been watered or cared for. The room had two drawers for clothing, and plenty of space to hang clothes, but only six hangers. There was no place in the large shower to hang wet clothing. The bathroom had plenty of counter space, and bottled water was sporadically replenished. The toilet was not in a separate room, so the bathroom could be used by only one person at a time. The shower was very large, and there was always plenty of hot water. The room itself was very spacious, and there would have been plenty of space for larger beds, instead of the short, hard beds provided. The air conditioner had to be turned on and off manually, because it would continue cooling the room even after the room had cooled to the desired setting, wasting electricity. There was no refrigerator or coffee machine, and the notepad was not replaced after it was used up. The wi-fi worked well. The television had four English channels, plus one French and one German channel, and many Spanish channels. There were plenty of places to charge electronics. Oddly enough, the hotel had no maps of downtown Cancun. The hotel has a pool and what appears to be a hot tub, but it is not actaully a hot tub, just part of the pool and not hot. For the price of $80 per night, this hotel was a good choice for a business trip, but I would probably not stay here again.
