One of the loveliest restaurants in Cancun! Every dining area is comfortable and family friendly, where whatever the age, you will feel right at home. The perfect place to enjoy a fine cut of meat, accompanied by a fine selection of wine, this restaurant will make you feel right at home! Enjoy the best Prime Cuts, Lamb, Suckling Pig and Fish, carefully prepared in our Charcoal Grill. Cambalache´s delicious menu is complete with “typical family recipes” in the purest fashioned Argentina. Soups, salads, side dishes, artisan breads are cooked at the moment to satisfy the most demanding palates.

We ended up here by chance and were pleasantly surprised. The exterior does not reflect how nice it is inside and everything from the decor to the music makes for a lovely dining experience. The food is excellent with plenty of choice and they add a bit of theatre by putting the final flourishes to some of the dishes table-side. If you are sitting in the main section of the restaurant and enjoy a G&T you should defiantly order one as it is prepared at your table after super chilling your glass which is a nice touch. Over all I would highly recommend Cambalache.

We visited Cambalache for the first time and it was exceptional! Our concierge at the Westin made the reservation for us. The restaurant has a rather modern look to it. Our service team included Luiz and Fernando, they both provided stellar service and were genuinely interested in making our dining experience first class! We ordered the cheese fondue and Caesar salad (prepared tableside) to begin our meal; both were delicious. My husband ordered the center cut sirloin cooked medium and I ordered neopolitan tenderloin and wow both were extremely tasty! Both cuts of meat were so tender! We ordered the flambed caramel crepes for dessert which were prepared tableside also. Hopefully when we return to Cancun one day, we will dine here again!

Visited by chance - it was there and we were hungry - but from reception at the front desk through to waiter service, we could not fault the place. The food was excellent, with really tasty steaks (well-done & blue - both just as they should be). Add some theatre - flambe at the table. An excellent evening and a high-point of our holiday.

Everything about this place is gorgeous, the steak is like cutting butter, so tender, beware side orders are huge! Service is fantastic, attentive without being intrusive. The waiter did little extra things like hanging our bags up and bringing fresh lemon juice to go in our drinks.Make sure to order the crepe Suzette and also the speciality coffees, these are prepared at your table and really add a sense of theatre. Absolutely loved it and definitely recommended.

 Dinner out for two
Looking for a little more upscale than we had done the last few nights we decided to try Cambalache. The outside facade doesn’t do the interior justice. We were greeted and seated within minutes with no reservations. Despite being very busy we were attentively waited on and drinks served. It is a fairly large venue but the attention to fine dining was observed in every detail. We started off with a Cesar salad prepared table side with an assortment of breads and dipping sauces explained in detail by the head waiter. Lynn had a fresh pasta and mushroom dish while I had the skirt steak. Both portions were large enough to have split for take home. The after dinner cocktails are definitely a must order as again they are prepared table side. Our wait staff was headed up by Jorge Carrillo and Cesar Zevon. Four glasses of wine , Cesar salad for two, both entrees ,one side and desert coffee came two $112.00 plus tip. Will be back this trip. Thanks

This place s in La Isla mall and new. We chose it at the recommendation of our concierge (Westin) and were very pleased. food was excellent...everyone in our party was happy with their appetisers, side and main course. portions are huge and you can easily share a main course between a couple. Sides are also large can can be shared across the table. we were able to dress casually, and while it is not an expensive place, when you share courses the bill is quite reasonable. We did need a reservation, (the place was packed) and at least in our case, when we showed them our Westin room key, we received a 10% discount. Atmosphere was classy, the only remotely negative comment I have is that it was fairly loud. If you are looking for quiet intamacy you might be better served by Ruths Chris. Still try this place tho, it is a great experience.

Visited this restaurant many many times over the years and this is the first visit to their new premises. Outstanding but kinda lost its original vibe. Booked in advance for a party of five. Arrived on time but had to wait around five minutes before being taken upstairs to our table. Was shocked to see we had five chairs squeezed around a table for two. Asked to be moved which they promptly did. Not one waiter smiled we had to ask for an explanation on which steak was recommended unlike in the old premises where they automatically brought you the meat board explaining which is what. Apart from this the food as always didn't disappoint by far the best steak you will eat in cancun and we hope to be back again and again on all our future visits.

The new restaurant is more modern and bright and they seem to be working out service issues. Still my favorite steakhouse anywhere and the quality of the food is still high as well. Worth a visit and price.

First off the restaurant itself is beautiful. Second, the food was great and service was even better. Our waitstaff was very attentive and checked on us throughout the meal to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. I ordered the filet (7oz tenderloin) and it was seasoned so perfectly I didn't need steak sauce or anything. The mashed potatoes were very good as well. My husband got the ribeye and said it was good. We ordered the cheesecake for dessert which was big enough for both of us and very delicious. We made a reservation but missed it and they still got us in immediately when we showed up. I would definitely recommend Cambalache!

Had Reservations and they were ready and willing to make our visit a memorable experience. Our waiter Ubaldo was very professional and made us feel at home. The food we got the Rib Eye for 2 and the Octopus appetizer!!! The best Octopus I have eaten will definitely be back. Thank you Ubaldo and your staff that helped our table.

We always look forward to our meal at Cambalache each year. This year was no exception. Their new location at La Isla shopping mall is a huge improvement over their old location at Forum by the Sea. It is now much larger, more sophisticated and beautiful. Most importantly, the food is still amazing and the service is second to none. Their steak preparation is spot on and the quality and taste rivals any New York or Las Vegas steakhouse (and we have eaten at quite a few of those!). You cannot go wrong with any of the steak entrees. The side dishes are all good, especially the creamed spinach (a steakhouse staple) and the potato soufle in the potato sticks nest basket. The service is top notch with two waiters per table. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we dined here twice during the week. Don't miss it.

 Best Restaurant Ever!
If you visit Cancun you have to go here at least once for dinner! We have gone the past 4 years and have never been disappointed. The service is always excellent and the food even better. We were just there in August and ended up with the same server from our last trip - Jose Louis! He is an excellent waiter and so friendly. Here is a pic of him preparing our flaming dessert.

Do not confuse this restaurant with a Brazilian “All you can eat Steakhouse”. The steaks, service, and ambience are on a par with Chicago Cut, Gene and Georgetti’s, and Del Friscos.  EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE
In the last few days of our Mexico vacation, we knew we had to try this particular restaurant that my sister in law said ITS A MUST! From the moment you stepped into the restaurant, different smells, hustle and bustle of the place, the staff. its wonderful! The waiters are there to cater to your every need. We had waiters Jorge Carrillo and Erik. They were so kind and made you feel like family. They not only made me feel at ease but it looked like everyone else they were serving to as well. If we needed anything BAM it was there! We decided to try the steak meal including the gigantic baked potato with all the fixings,and I had fried chicken. Everything my husband and I ate was top notch. Including the chocolate cake! This place is worth the money we spent and when we come back to Mexico, its our first stop! Thank you Cambalache!!!! for an experience my husband and I are still talking about even after we have been gone!

Well, from the outside connected to a mall, we did not really go into Cambalche expecting what we got.The interior is very well done, seems like a place where you should dress nicer than we did but the staff and food was excellent.As I stated, we went one night of our trip and were pleasantly surprised. they have a nice selection of wines and the food was great. As this place is an Argentinian Big Steak House, we had steak. All were cooked superbly and had great flavor. We did opt for the Caeser Salad and I would recommend it. The waitstaff prepare the dressing and salad at your table. It was fresh and delicious.The desserts were well prepared too!. We ordered the special Strawberry Flambe and again, it was prepared table side and it was entertaining to watch. The strawberries were ample and delicious.As stated in the tile, we enjoyed our visit so much, we made it our dinner out for our last night in Cancun. Separated by a few days and seated in another section of the restaurant, our original waiter recognized us and stopped over to make us feel even more welcomed. I highly recommend Cambalache if you visit Cancun.

 Best Steak I've had in a long time
My wife and I went for dinner here on our last trip to Cancun. We had a drink at the bar and then went to our table. We shared a Cesar salad that was made from scratch in from of us, even the dressing. It was delicious. we both order Steak a Rib Eye for me and a Tenderloin for my wife, they were both cooked to perfection and we very tender. We had a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced. Our waiter (Miguel Canseco) was excellent and took care of all our needs. If you're in Cancun near the hotel strip a really recommend this Restaurant.

We were staying at the Westin so this was right across the road. The decor is great and feels very cosy for a large room. Our servers were very friendly and the sommelier/ maitre'd explained the cuts of meat to us. We shared the mozzarella and tomato starter as I wanted to be sure to eat my main. We choose the tenderloin as not to keen on eating fat even though I know this is the tastiest part but he explained how it's cooked and it was, perfect with the right amount of seasoning. We choose to pouffy potatoes as our side which were fun. Tasted like chips. They do go cold quickly so eat fast! The grilled vegetables where lovely too. We had a lovely wine and shared the crepe suzette which is prepared in front of you. Fab. Great meal, great service and ambiance. Mention you are at the Westin to get your 10% discount. Will return before we leave.

Superb dining experience - food and service top notch. Dined on 10 Nov with family during vacation; recommended by Westin resort concierge who made the reservation and we were not disappointed at all. We all had beef, 2 shared the 28oz rib eye while 2 of us each had the 14oz - cooked to perfection. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Will plan to return next year.

My husband and I had dinner at Cambalache during a recent stay at The Westin across the street. The restaurant itself is modern and hip with industrial-chic decor, down to the oversized pendant lighting and Edison bulbs. Upon arrival, we were treated with upmost attention and warmth. Although the place was bustling, busy, and noisy, our glasses were constantly refilled and any questions we had were fully answered. Our appetizers of Chorizo Cambalache and empanadas were excellent... the vinegar-y salad that accompanied the sausage perfectly cut the savory taste of the meat. Bread basket and the trio of sauces included were great. And our entrees of tender skirt steak and tenderloin brochette were delicious and perfectly cooked according to our waiter’s suggestions. Dessert of their house flan was perfect end to our meal and absolutely delicious. We highly recommend Cambalache for a special meal in Cancun... next time, we will definitely opt for one of the many table-side preparations of sides, desserts and specialty drinks!

 Great food & service!
Visited Cambalache last night and were very impressed. We started dinner with the caprese salad - thick cut tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and drizzled with pesto- delicious!  Great Steak House!
Do not confuse this restaurant with a Brazilian “All you can eat Steakhouse”. The steaks, service, and ambience are on a par with Chicago Cut, Gene and Georgetti’s, and Del Friscos. We had mozzarella and tomato salad, tenderloin for two, (medium rare perfectly cooked) potato soufflés, cheesecake and French coffee for dessert. Across the street from Westin Lagunamar. 10% discount!

 Best Steak I've had in a long time
My wife and I went for dinner here on our last trip to Cancun. We had a drink at the bar and then went to our table. We shared a Cesar salad that was made from scratch in from of us, even the dressing. It was delicious. we both order Steak a Rib Eye for me and a Tenderloin for my wife, they were both cooked to perfection and we very tender. We had a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced. Our waiter (Miguel Canseco) was excellent and took care of all our needs. If you're in Cancun near the hotel strip a really recommend this Restaurant.

We were staying at the Westin so this was right across the road. The decor is great and feels very cosy for a large room. Our servers were very friendly and the sommelier/ maitre'd explained the cuts of meat to us. We shared the mozzarella and tomato starter as I wanted to be sure to eat my main. We choose the tenderloin as not to keen on eating fat even though I know this is the tastiest part but he explained how it's cooked and it was, perfect with the right amount of seasoning. We choose to pouffy potatoes as our side which were fun. Tasted like chips. They do go cold quickly so eat fast! The grilled vegetables where lovely too. We had a lovely wine and shared the crepe suzette which is prepared in front of you. Fab. Great meal, great service and ambiance. Mention you are at the Westin to get your 10% discount. Will return before we leave.

 Amazing Steaks!!
We always look forward to our meal at Cambalache each year. This year was no exception. Their new location at La Isla shopping mall is a huge improvement over their old location at Forum by the Sea. It is now much larger, more sophisticated and beautiful. Most importantly, the food is still amazing and the service is second to none. Their steak preparation is spot on and the quality and taste rivals any New York or Las Vegas steakhouse (and we have eaten at quite a few of those!). You cannot go wrong with any of the steak entrees. The side dishes are all good, especially the creamed spinach (a steakhouse staple) and the potato soufle in the potato sticks nest basket. The service is top notch with two waiters per table. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we dined here twice during the week. Don't miss it.

Superb dining experience - food and service top notch. Dined on 10 Nov with family during vacation; recommended by Westin resort concierge who made the reservation and we were not disappointed at all. We all had beef, 2 shared the 28oz rib eye while 2 of us each had the 14oz - cooked to perfection. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Will plan to return next year.

 Best Restaurant Ever!
If you visit Cancun you have to go here at least once for dinner! We have gone the past 4 years and have never been disappointed. The service is always excellent and the food even better. We were just there in August and ended up with the same server from our last trip - Jose Louis! He is an excellent waiter and so friendly. Here is a pic of him preparing our flaming dessert.

My husband and I had dinner at Cambalache during a recent stay at The Westin across the street. The restaurant itself is modern and hip with industrial-chic decor, down to the oversized pendant lighting and Edison bulbs. Upon arrival, we were treated with upmost attention and warmth. Although the place was bustling, busy, and noisy, our glasses were constantly refilled and any questions we had were fully answered.  EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE
In the last few days of our Mexico vacation, we knew we had to try this particular restaurant that my sister in law said ITS A MUST! From the moment you stepped into the restaurant, different smells, hustle and bustle of the place, the staff. its wonderful! The waiters are there to cater to your every need. We had waiters Jorge Carrillo and Erik. They were so kind and made you feel like family. They not only made me feel at ease but it looked like everyone else they were serving to as well. If we needed anything BAM it was there! We decided to try the steak meal including the gigantic baked potato with all the fixings,and I had fried chicken. Everything my husband and I ate was top notch. Including the chocolate cake! This place is worth the money we spent and when we come back to Mexico, its our first stop! Thank you Cambalache!!!! for an experience my husband and I are still talking about even after we have been gone!

 We liked it so much, we visited twice!
Well, from the outside connected to a mall, we did not really go into Cambalche expecting what we got.The interior is very well done, seems like a place where you should dress nicer than we did but the staff and food was excellent.As I stated, we went one night of our trip and were pleasantly surprised. they have a nice selection of wines and the food was great. As this place is an Argentinian Big Steak House, we had steak. All were cooked superbly and had great flavor. We did opt for the Caeser Salad and I would recommend it. The waitstaff prepare the dressing and salad at your table. It was fresh and delicious.The desserts were well prepared too!. We ordered the special Strawberry Flambe and again, it was prepared table side and it was entertaining to watch. The strawberries were ample and delicious.As stated in the tile, we enjoyed our visit so much, we made it our dinner out for our last night in Cancun. Separated by a few days and seated in another section of the restaurant, our original waiter recognized us and stopped over to make us feel even more welcomed. I highly recommend Cambalache if you visit Cancun.

It's nice to have this type of fine dining option if you are staying at one of the nearby resorts. This was our second visit here. The first time was earlier this year in May and on that first visit, overall everyone was happy although one steak was served barely seared and raw and had to be sent back. The desserts were fantastic, memorable, and easily the best part of the meal. On this visit, we got a variety of items (steak, tuna and chicken). I like skirt steak so I ordered the 14 oz. size, which was large and it was cooked perfectly to medium as ordered. It was tender and juicy but lacked any seasoning so it was bland. The Chicken Don Ignacio was excellent; a large portion of chicken breasts grilled, in a mushroom and pineapple sauce, with new potatoes and sweet peppers. You could easily get two meals out of it. The Tuna Steak was excellent, a large steak cut in two pieces, perfectly seared and fresh tasting. The caprese salad was also large with (mostly) ripe thick slices of tomato and thick slices of mozzarella all drizzled with pesto. The caesar salad was also excellent and prepared authentically: tableside and with raw egg and anchovies. We didn't have room for dessert this time. We had glasses of their house Merlot and it was fine, although served slightly chilled, which is not my preference. We also had their signature basket of warm puffed potato slices (they call them souffles) but they are just warm, soft puffed potato chips; their unique and nice to much on throughout the meal. The service was very courteous, attentive and well paced. For two salads, three entrees, one side and two glasses of wine we paid $135 + tip (based on 17 pesos to the dollar).

ON the way in a couple was coming out and they complain to the host about drinks ,but we only drink wine anyway ,the restaurant is beautiful they have to many people coming to the table I know that maybe they have a bboy waiter and a Captain but we have like 5 different one and at the end our server wad gone without even said anything ,the only thing that I like about the food was the mollejas I didn't care for the chorizo or morcilla or tira de asado ,the presentation was good but was no flavor

The salad was good, with interesting ingredients, but the cheese dish was not the one we ordered and it was inedible. the brochette was good, not great, and the grilled vegetables were unevenly cooked. Maybe we got them on an off night, or maybe we've just gotten way better service and quality food for a more affordable price. The very next night we enjoyed far better steaks at the onsite restaurant at our resort, which totally surprised me based on the reviews I used to choose where to eat.

We have been going to Cambalache for many years to celebrate my husband's birthday in July. We have always loved the serene atmosphere and the comfortable booths at Cambalache at Forum by the Sea.This year we discovered that Cambalache had moved to a new location at the La Isla shopping center. The building has an upscale vibe and we were directed to our table up on the second floor. Gone is the serenity and the comfort. They have to slide a second table up to the table where you are seated to accommodate the serving platters. The old restaurant had plenty of room on the tables. There was an abundance of children dining with their parents which made for a lot of running around and noise. Add a DJ to the mix and the noise was overwhelming. I actually asked that the music be turned down, which was done very graciously.We ordered our favorites and we found everything over salted. The souffle potatoes were cold and terribly salty. The tenderloin was also extremely salty.The service is still excellent. The waiters are extremely attentive and pleasant.However, due to the noise level, I think that next year I will have to look for a steakhouse with a less chaotic atmosphere. Too bad ... this used to be our favorite.

Servings large so don't order 2 appy's. Chambalache chicken was ok but under spiced. Server never asked for preference of lamb temperature. Tasty but well done. Experience was ok. Thick breading, not fishy and for the most part not rubbery or overcooked.The other couple had a caesar salad prepared table side and they loved it.We ordered our steaks and were told they could only do medallions of the cut but the same weight. Disappointing but OK. We also ordered a house specialty puffed potato dish. These arrived and were novel in that they were like inflated potato chips. Tasty but they get cold quickly. We ordered two of them but one would have sufficed for the table.Two people ordered their steak medium well, one ordered medium, and I ordered medium rare.The cooking of all steaks seemed to be OK except one of my medallions was rare.All of us enjoyed the flavour but I was disappointed with two of the four medallions being rather chewy along with the one rare.We declined dessert.All of us expressed some disappointment with what is supposed to be the raison d'être of the restaurant.  Very Poor Service
Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we were very disappointed. The place is nice, but the service is terrible, waiters flitting around, but never stopping to provide service, I could not get a refill of water or another glass of wine . Had a NY Strip there last night. One of the worst steaks I have ever had. Mostly grizzle. Waiter never came back after being served to ask how it was. Priced at about $50.00. Will not go back.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we were very disappointed. The place is nice, but the service is terrible, waiters flitting around, but never stopping to provide service, I could not get a refill of water or another glass of wine .  Need a Strong Constitution & a Pair of Ear Plugs
We were talked into making reservations at Cambalache instead of Ruth Chris down the street, being told Cambalache was "much better". The concierge could not have been more wrong. At 7PM on a Thursday, the place was blaring 70's disco music. You could barely carry on a conversation with the person sitting next to you. The waiter didn't know what a Dirty Martini was and kept asking us if they were supposed to be putting olive OIL in the drink even though we kept specifying olive JUICE. For a high end steak house, this shouldn't be a mystery. My husband and I both ordered salad. Mine was watercress. His was lettuce. The salads were huge and we both ate less then half and then had them packed to go. I had salmon carpaccio which was good. My husband had a steak which was "okay". That night, my husband had a bad gastrointestional (GI) reaction. Mine less, but not good. Since we both ate different things, we weren't sure what it was from. But when we both had the remaining salads (each our own order) the next night and both had the same bad reaction, we could only conclude it was from BOTH salads. Would not ever go back. Eat there at your own GI risk. Very sorry we didn't go to Ruth Chris instead

 Trying to be a upmarket steak house and failing
We decided to visit as my partner ate here several years ago (previous premises).The decor and ambiance are what you would expect from an upmarket steakhouse but sadly to say the food does not meet expectations.To start we had the morcilla (Spanish black pudding) Caprese salad and 2 empanadas.The black pudding was bland and had no flavour whatsoever, the caprese salad was ok however it was presented like a 2 year old had prepared it, and the empanadas were nothing special.The main course (selection of steaks) was rather moribund, the steak was not cook as requested, the quality of the meat was poor, it had not been seasoned at all hence been rather tasteless. The meat was tough and was obviously not aged by any time.The mashed potatoes were bland again lacked any seasoning, and to be honest tasted like packet potatoes. Not recommended!!

Very nice restaurant with great atmosphere, but the waiter was rude and did not pay any attention. Stod beside the table and made jokes with the rest of the staff.First he forgot one drink that we ordered. I asked for medium well meat and was served very raw meat. When he cut the meat he asked if it was ok, and I said no, but he didnt care and didnt do anything about it. Baked potato was good, but that was almost the only thing I could eat. Rude about the tip as well, and asked for more.

A party of 4 of us dined here as we were visiting the shopping mall nearby. There were lots of waiters actually running around the restaurant but there seemed to be little organisation Our waiter was very pleasant,but that's were the good experience endsOrder for food and drinks was placed and our sides duly arrived After our sides had been left sitting on the table for 5 minutes and grown cold we asked for them to be taken away and fresh ones brought out when our steaks were ready10 minutes later our steaks arrived with 2 being cooked incorrectly Despite asking for our sides several times, they did not reappear.The 2 steaks were recooked and brought back to us around the same time as our sides finally arrived Alas, one of the steaks was still undercooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen again By this time the two correctly cooked steaks had grown cold and again had to ask for them to be reheated Overall complete disappointment as we were looking forward to a nice family meal out and to top it off the manager offered a measly discount on our billAfter advising the manager of our total displeasure on the service and lack of organisation regarding serving of food he reduced my bill a little further which in my opinion was still nowhere near enough ***Not recommended ***
