Delicious dinner and wonderful service by Maria
Staying at The Royal Sands, my husband and I came here with friends that were with us for the week. We hadn’t been here in a few years so wanted to try their current menu and to see if the alligator in the lagoon was still around....yes he is.We wanted to take the Royal Resorts shuttle to Captain’s Cove, so put our name on the list. When it was time to get the shuttle, we were called by name, based on the order we signed up for the bus, although handicap people were helped on first. No standing is allowed on the bus. Years ago, we were able to take the bus with passengers standing, but authorities intervened on behalf of taxi drivers, so getting the shuttle back to Royal Sands could be quite a wait. When we finished dinner, and headed outside, the bus pulled up and stopped right in front of us. The driver got off to help a handicap woman get on the bus and counted 6 of us to get on the bus, the only seats available. One of the reasons we haven’t been to Captain’s Cove in a few years is due to this shuttle being so popular, so long waits for the bus.Dinner started with a spicy tomato lime drink, too spicy for me, and delicious warm rolls. Our dinner choices were a wonderful Salmon Carpaccio that we shared, followed by various shrimp dishes that we each ordered, cooked in different ways and a fish dish steamed with veggies. All were beautifully presented and delicious. Of course we had to have dessert, so ordered a couple dishes of Tiramisu which was definitely a keeper!!!It was then time to head back to The Sands, but luckily, before we left, we got an appearance from the Alligator in the lagoon. We really liked the nautical plates that they used. If you are like us and are curious, the plates spell out “WELCOME”.And I have to thank our server, Maria, who was very friendly, helpful with the menu and attentive which helped make our dinner with friends so nice!
