Set by the adults only pool at NIZUC, this restaurant under a thatched roof is nice, airy and offers a delectable lighter cuisine that is fabulous while seating poolside under a palapa. The ceviche is AMAZING!

 Perfection for seafood or steak.
Beautiful, relaxing setting, elegant but not over stated. Incredible seafood and steaks. The chef has exquisite sauces that were out of this world.

 Expensive but worth it
Amazing ambience, outstanding service. Very pricy, but you get what you pay for. Ordered the Tomahawk, expected something a little larger but the presentation, flavor, and preparation more than made up for it.

 Impressed All Around!
We were not sure what we were going to get from La Punta, but were very happy when we walked away. The service was amazing, constant attention to detail, and high level of urgency. It did drop off a little towards the end once the restaurant got filled up. The Shrimp, Skirt Steak, Mac & Cheese, and Soups were all impressive. Whether your staying at Nizuc, or in the Hotel Zone, you should go!

The manager of the Punta Grill is excellent. Great guacamole, spicy margarita's and ceviche. Wine list is limited and VERY expensive.

We ate both lunch and dinner at La Punta during our stay at Nizuc Resort. At lunch we sat outside on the couches at the end. The view of the ocean was very good and the lunch food is also very good. The real treat is dinner at La Punta -- the inside of the restaurant is really cool at night. Plus the food is superb. I loved the grilled lobster! Wait staff was very fun and friendly too.

The food and wines are great. The restaurant has great personal service and is more quiet than the other restaurants at the hotel (tables for 4)

 Thanksgiving with family
Wonderful night spent with family on Thanksgiving night. Surf and turf that didn't disappoint! One son had the catch of the day which was grouper served whole. Steak was perfectly cooked as were the salmon and the shrimp. What a night we won't soon forget.

This restaurant has a different resident chef each year. There is some sort of competition and the winner comes to this restaurant. The restaurant overlooks the adults only pool and the water. It has a nice breeze and a fantastic menu!

This place is my favorite of all the restaurants at Nizuc. Outstanding service, food, and decor. The design is just so beautiful, and every dish has impeccable detail. The ceviche is insanely amazing, but the fish tacos are my go-to dish. Fresh towels before the meal, beverage "garnishes", amuse-bouche in between each course, and stunning views both during the day and at night. I prefer to come here during dinner time lately, I find the menu even better than the lunch menu. But both are spectacular.

This place is legit. The best ceviche Ive ever had the pleasure of enjoying. By far the best view. All their restaurants are ones!

 The shrimp tacos are to die for!
I came here for lunch during my stay at NIZUC and it was an amazing experience. We sat and had lunch with a view of the adult pool and beach. The service is top-notch at any of the NIZUC restaurants on the property but La Punta was especially great. It was here that I first tried their fried shrimp tacos and they were undoubtedly the best I have ever had. The corn tortillas are so authentic and tasty. They served complimentary selections of bread (potato, tomato) with fine butter. Perfect lunch before a relaxing day at the beach or pool!

I ate fish tacos and the ceviche (freshest) every day. Amazing sunset views if you decide to book diner.

 I still think of this... one year later!
In most places, hotel and resort food tends to really be bleah. One year later, I still think about the quality and excellence at this restaurant. Having just returned from eating sushi near Tsukiji Market in Ginza, Tokyo, I can attest that the seafood at Nizuc was top notch. I still think about the ceviche I ate there! La Punta just blew me away with their level of attention to detail and flavors. Treat yourself!

 Excellent Catch of the Day
We had a whole fish grilled and spiced, I believe it was snapper cooked to perfection. The restaurant is situated next to an infinity pool with a lovely ocean view. Windows on either side let a nice cool breeze pass through. The service was great as always at Niuzuc.

 Pretty Amazing
We hit up La Punta on our last night at Nizuc. I wish we had gone sooner, but probably better on the pocketbook that way. The restaurant is very lovely with views of the ocean. I'm glad we got there while it was still light out and watched the colors changed as the sun set. There was a gentle breeze coming off the ocean and coupled with the sounds of the crashing waves, it was perfectly romantic.The service was outstanding. We were brought both an amuse bouche (grilled mushroom and goat cheese on toast) and a sample cocktail (never seen this before, but who turns down free booze? Not I). As an appetizer we split the lime soup and it was mellow and tasty. We both went for the lobster and chose the grilled corn and mashed potatoes sides, to our detriment. The lobster was so massive that we couldn't finish the sides. The lobster was well-seasoned, but probably a touch over-cooked. The grilled corn with bits of asparagus was the stand-out of the sides. We had the lychee martinis throughout the meal and were feeling fine, but very stuffed, by meal's end.It was a pretty fabulous meal. Like everywhere else at Nizuc, there is incredible attention to detail and the plates look like they sprung from a culinary magazine - and taste like it, too.

La Punta is located next to the adults only pool at Nizuc Resort and Spa. The dining area is open to the breezes, and is very comfortable. We ordered drinks and snacks here during the day. One evening we enjoyed dinner here. We were served an amuse bouche of camembert cheese and melon on a basil cracker. It was served with a refreshing vodka cocktail. I had the chipotle/chocolate soup and my husband had a trio of tiny tacos.For our main courses I had a small fillet and my husband had the special which was a rack of lamb. A selection of sauces were available for the steak. I liked the chimichurri sauce the best. My husband ordered a side dish of corn and asparagus.The chipotle chocolate soup was as beautiful as it was tasty. The steak and lamb were perfectly cooked to our order.The service was as flawless and as elegant as was the food.We had a wonderful leisurely dinner and for dessert we were treated to a chocolate cake wishing us a happy anniversary.We will be back!

At table open to all the breezes at the beach without the flies and mosquitoes, we were treated to an excellent dining experience. Courteous waiters explained and delivered everything at a good pace and with perfection. Before we tasted the food, we were awed by the presentation. It was like art. Our appetizers were presented in unique plates. Cevichi was served in a long and narrow dish that made the seafood look long and elegant. The soup was served hot at the table in a beautiful bowl that highlighted the soup's color and aroma. The main courses were spectacular. The lobster was ample, and the salmon was perfectly cooked and plated. Without any rush, we dined for 3 hours before coffee and the check. What a treat to be welcomed and attended to with such grace and skill. As we left, a cart was waiting to whisk us back to our rooms and with a hand on our hearts, the greeting at Nizuc, we slept well that night. Make reservations. It was a quiet season when we were there, but that's not usually the case.

Very nice restaurant with an amazing setting overlooking the water. Beautiful decor. Food was excellent. We enjoyed the tacos (fish), lobster quesadillas and the steak quesadillas, guacamole, etc. Very good service. Able to accommodate large groups.

 Good grilled whole fish
We ate from the La Punta menu by the pool because of the dress code and because I was mercilessly attacked by mosquitoes the moment I stepped into La Punta, no matter what time of day, but the restaurant atmosphere looked very nice. We had the whole fresh grilled fish, which was excellent. The mixed salad and ceviche appetizers were also good. The sides we tried (truffle Mac and cheese and grilled potatoes) were heavy and. Is able -- don't waste the calories.

We had food from La Punta (3) times during our stay. The food and service were always very good but we learned after the first visit to go directly to the bartender to get your mixed drinks. As a matter of fact, we were told by another guest that the mixed drinks were weak. I found out on my 1st order of the week. I heard this complaint several time thru-out the week at the pool.

 A good steakhouse
We had a great dinner at la Punta Grill. It is adults only, with a very romantic semi-outdoor setting. The steaks we had were slightly overdone and not as tender as you would expect at a prime steakhouse, but everything else was great.

My husband and I stayed at the Nizuc Resort and Spa in early May. Our first evening at the hotel, we decided to eat dinner at the La Punta Grill & Lounge. The restaurant is lovely and romantic. We ordered a couple appetizers, Pescadillas Nizuc and the Trilogy of Mediterranean Empanadas. The empanadas were so tasty, we ordered a second order of them and I had it as an entrée. My husband ordered the grilled jumbo shrimp as an entrée. He was served six shrimp and a garnish. For over thirty dollars, we were disappointed by the portion size. The empanadas, as an appetizer, were served with a small portion of mashed potatoes. We plan to return to this resort but I don't see us returning to this restaurant. If we do, we will know to order just the appetizers.
