Maki Taco, Cancun

 Great food, great service!
Went to Maki Taco on our last day at Grand Oasis Cancun. My four friends and I were immediately seated and the concept of the restaurant (shareable plates) was quickly explained to us. The waiter was very polite, spoke clearly and was knowledgable. The menu was a bit overwhelming so the waiter offered to bring the table a sample of everything. What followed was a barrage of some of the best food I ate during my week in Cancun. In addition the staff brought us each one of their specialty shots. The manager, Roberto, introduced himself and made sure the service was top notch, and drinks were replenished. He offered to set up a table upstairs at the shisha bar after dinner and we accepted. He seems genuinely interested in providing the best service possible.If you're staying at the resort, this place is a must eat. Say hi to Roberto for me.

 Very good food in a casual environment
As guests at the oasis sens we get to eat here as part of the all inclusive and we love it. We have tried many of the dishes and all have been excellent. The tempura are very good with delicious sauces. The sushi is all very good too. We have been twice in the first week and will go again no doubt. Only slight problem has been the waiters in there have not spoken the best of English so asking what is in the food has been troublesome and we had to order things and hope we liked it not knowing what we would get. The other restaurants at the oasis seem to be better in terms of staff speaking English so hope we get another waiter next time we go who can explain the menu better

 Best and friendliest staff
I have never been more impressed in a staff, until now. The dining experience was incredible beyond words. Josue was an amazing waiter and made our experience unremarkably great. Lastly Roberto was a very attentive manager and so accommodating. By far the best dining experience during our stay!

 Amazing!
This restaurant was truly amazing! My family and I stumbled in after wandering around the hotel grounds and were greeted warmly! The manager, Roberto, was very friendly. treated us well, and is very passionate about what he does! The food was amazing and had such an interesting twist. The Japanese and Mexican twist was very well done and my family tried a little bit of everything and it was all delicious! The waiters, Josue and Alfonso, were both very kind and humored all our questions about the food and even went out of their way to help us. I highly recommend getting the seaweed ice cream! They make the ice cream in front of you and it is delicious! Everything is worth trying! Everyone is friendly, the food is delicious, and it will be one of the best dinners you will have!

 Amazing dinner
Our waiters Josue and Alfonso were fantastic. The food was amazing, Japanese-mexican fusion is a match made in heaven. The manager Roberto made sure that we taken care of throughout the entire meal with drinks, food and good conversation. We have been here twice already on our trip and are sure that we will be here again before we leave. Highly recommend.

 Fusion that works.....
Mexican and Japanese fusion. We loved it! Highly recommend the fish tempura the sauce is delicious! The salmon ud on noodle was also to die for! We tried this restaurant twice and weren't keen the 1st time but the 2nd time blew it out of the water! The portions are good and the miso soup is delicious! Would recommend if you love sushi and Japanese cuisine, it had a really subtle Mexican twist which was brilliant!

Mexican Asian Fusion Cuisine at its finest. The Crab Sushi was excellent. Tempura fish & veggies were bangin'. Seafood salad is a must have. While the food was top notch - the service & atmosphere was even better. Restaurant Manager Roberto is engaging, funny and an excellent host that makes you feel like family from jump. Servers Fausto & Alfredo were attentive to our needs. A must for anyone visiting Cancun.

You need a black wrist band for this one, but it is worth it! Service was amazing. The kids absolutely loved it

The food was amazing, it came out fast without jeopardizing the flavour. Very attentive staff (Alfonso) with a very friendly manager Roberto. Just become one of my favourites at the resort!

Was just at Grand Oasis Palm and my family and I ate here twice. We had our first and last dinner here. Food was amazing and the service was extraordinary. Our first dinner was with a server name Luis. He was so helpful in selecting our dishes. My husband has celiac and was trying to order stuff that we thought was gluten Free. Luis picked up immediately and told us no worries and he will take care of selecting dishes that was safe for my husband. Only thing I wish they would carry is GF soy sauce. Other hen that we totally enjoyed our visits. Our last nights dinner was just the same. The establishments manager recognized us and took my cheap wine away and brought myself a glass of something that was delicious. I didn't really get a chance to ask him what is was and also forgot to thanked him. This place is top notch! Quality and service, love love! Thank you.

Roberto is the general manger and his joy is absolutely contagious. Million dollar smile. The food was delicious. The duck tacos were cooked to perfection, rice wantons were blissful and the chicken egg rolls were great. Out of all the places we have been thus far, Maki Taco has been the best. The service is top class and all the staff is amazing. Will definitely be coming back here before our trip concludes.

 Maki Taco is Osaki Taco!!!
My friends and I were sitting down when Roberto, the hardest working man(ager) at the Oasis (who speaks perfect English, Spanish, Ebonics, slang, and a host of other languages : 0), approached us about the Maki Taco. I was hesitant because you would never have to worry about gaining weight at this all inclusive resort. Moreover, I never heard of combining Mexican and Japanese cuisine while living in Texas, the land of Tex-Mex and Mexican food. Nevertheless, after Roberto informed us that his restaurant was #1 on TripAdvisor, the foodie in me took over and I was sold. I subsequently convinced my friends to come and booooooy, are we glad we did!!! This experience raised my score of the Oasis.First, Roberto made us ladies a “women’s” drink and made the gentlemen a “men’s” drink with a shot of Hypnotic on the side, lol. They were sooooo smooth! And this was a lot to be said because the drinks at the Oasis sucked. Quite frankly I had always experienced good liquor in Mexico until I came to this resort. Nevertheless, we ordered the sensational sushi, the seasoned salmon with voila vegetables, the splendid spring rolls, and the celestial cilantro tempting tempura. EVERYTHING was AMAZING!P.S. Maki Taco really deserves a 4 because the restaurant does not have air and it was hot. However, Roberto, the staff, the cuisine, and the drinks made us forget it was hot until we got up to leave, lol. Quite frankly, I am shocked beyond belief that Roberto still works there, Oasis better be paying him well because he is the best of the best and I have been all over the world dining (London, Italy, France, Canada, Germany, Denmark, Caribbean, and many more). Outstanding cuisine, service, and ambience (other than the air)!

If you like sushi you will love Maki Taco it is sushi with twist of Mexican the service is great never an empty glass and our waiter Alfonso gave us a great selection from the menu everything was very tasty and fresh

Roberto!!!!! This guy gives you the same feeling you get when in deep water and out of nowhere you hear a voice and someone tosses you a life jacket! The resort is the water (bad experience) the life jacket is maki taco (best place to eat on entire resort) voice you hear out of nowhere is Roberto! Awesome staff, awesome food and my only wish is that they had rooms in that place!

My boyfriend and I just arrived at the Grand Oasis Cancun and decided to have our first dinner here at the resort. The service was beyond amazing. We were unsure what to order because everything on the entire menu looked good but our server Fausto explained each dish and brought us out little dishes so we could try everything in the menu. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!! Fausto's service was exceptional and he truly made our experience here enjoyable. Best restaurant I've been to on the resort. The staff was very attentive. Food was great I'd recommend the sashimi here and the salmon roll with the macho banana on top (Suggested by our waiter Danny, best waiter ever!!!). Sounded like a weird combination at first but it was truly amazing... Roberto was also great promised us a great visit and that's exactly what we got... Thank you for everything!!!

They were very friendly and attentive... They made us feel welcome. They made us feel extra special, Juan made a special drink for us " Juanito's Special" lol...The food was delicious.This place became our favorite so we had dinner there 2 times... I really loved this place and I'll be visiting again for sure.

 All Inclusive Resort Restaurant - Great Food & Servi
We found this resteraunt on Trip Advisory. Write up did not mention this restaurant is part of an all-inclusive resort and is not really set-up for public dining. We arrived at the resort and ask the doorman for directions to the restaurant. He ask if we had reservations and when we said no he escorted us to the concierge desk. She explained that this was an all inclusive resort but we could buy a "pass", and escorted us to the main "check in" counter. After waiting for a few minutes for a counter agent to free up, a staff agent who the concierge left us with explained to the counter agent in Spanish what we needed. I was ask to provide ID And sign a form in two places. He indicated it would cost $85 USD for the two of us to dine all inclusive at Maki Taco. We really wanted Sushi and had already dropped $11 on a cab to get there, so we agreed and put it on my card. The staff was very courteous and helpful but it took 15 minutes to get away from the counter with our dining pass.Now for the restaurant. Maki Taco is a fabulous casual dining experience. The service provided by Alfonso was great and he patiently explained the menu to us and made recommendations. The menu is laided out in "courses" so we ordered items from most of them including the miso soup, sushi, tempura, vegetable rice, and a great selections of deserts. The entire evening both Alfonso and the very friendly manager, Roberto made sure we had everything we needed and were having a great dining experience. The food was served timely and delicious.Even though we were enjoying included mix drinks with are meal, Roberto made sure to offer us wine with our meal if we desired. We finish dinner with a couple of the desert selection including the seaweed tea ice cream, which is made table side by Alfonso. Umm good.Can't say enough good things about the great staff and service. A great evening (once we got into the restaurant).

The menu is laided out in "courses" so we ordered items from most of them including the miso soup, sushi, tempura, vegetable rice, and a great selections of deserts. The entire evening both Alfonso and the very friendly manager, Roberto made sure we had everything we needed and were having a great dining experience. The food was served timely and delicious.Even though we were enjoying included mix drinks with are meal, Roberto made sure to offer us wine with our meal if we desired. We finish dinner with a couple of the desert selection including the seaweed tea ice cream, which is made table side by Alfonso. Umm good.Can't say enough good things about the great staff and service. A great evening (once we got into the restaurant).

This is the first time to dine in here at this place even I came to the hotel which this restaurant is inside last year. After I read the review of TripAdvisor for this place, made me wanna try the food. I like Japanese food, I live in NYC. The food here is great.. I will definitely come back here again if I am in Cancun next year. I want to try more food from them. But this place is no AC.... that what made me gave them 4 stars, not 5.

 Poor management
Need to better organize reservation. They require you to come sharp at 4pm in person on the same day to make reservation and not even over the phone. People are on vacation, you should be more flexible for your guests!
