 Unbelievable Experience!!!! Wonderful
The most perfect evening! The ambiance is outstanding! The food and service is 5 star plus. We had surf and turf. We are from NYC and have been to major restaurants this experience in Cancun was a pleasant surprise. You need reservations. Try to go before the sun sets just adds to your dinner experience. We will hope to return....

P.M. was recommended for my daughter's birthday dinner. Everything was perfect- the food, service, and view. Our waiter (I believe his name was Alfredo) and his helper were right on clearing, drinks, and food delivery. The surf and turf melted in my mouth. Thanks for a great night for our special birthday celebration.

If you have the opportunity to go to this restaurant, please do that!!! Yo can make a reservation or just go there and wait a little but definitely worth it!!All was perfect, the drinks, appetizers, main dish and the dessert, if you want to eat meat, chicken or fish you can chose if you want, you have the enough variety... I thought it was just meat, like in Argentina, but no.... It is your choice. The service is super good, they were very friendly to suggest you and taste new things if you want. You go a little best dressed, but man can wear a Blue Jean with a neck t-shirt or a shirt...The place is a romantic environment, decorated of wood mainly.... I liked a lot!!!Ah, the prices are good for a place like that, I mean affordable, not cheap, but not expensive...

Good assortment of choices from steak to seafood to pasta. Sat outdoors on a beautiful night. Pricey though...

 Don't eat before you go
I've been to this place twice, but I dream about it all the time. The interior brickwork is fascinating. The entire atmosphere is great. My husband had steak both times and it was thick and juicy and incredibly flavorful. I had the tuna steak. Done to perfection. The side dishes are enough for a meal in themselves. The roasted vegetables were delicious. We ordered asparagus and mashed potatoes and wished that we could have taken a doggy bag. They do charge for everything including water and it's not an inexpensive evening but......I will save my pennies and return.

Last month we were in Cancun for our daughter’s wedding and ate here with our family & the groom’s. Everyone had a supertime with excellent choices from their extensive menu.If you like Caesar Salad, try it here! It is prepared table side. The service is outstanding & the presentation is top notch.Try this restaurant and you’ll see why it is ourfavorite in all of Cancun!

Ildefonso and the rest of the friendly staff make you glad you chose this restaurant. The staff has just the right balance of leaving you alone to enjoy your meal and stepping in with a few friendly stories and recommendationsFor appetizers the fried cheese is outstanding. I’d pass on the jumbo shrimp. The strip steak was very good as was the seafood spaghetti.

The restaurant was one of a handful recommended by our hotel concierge that is close by. No reservation was needed at the time we went and from the moment we arrived everyone was so attentive to our needs and wants - nothing was too much pleasure. Being our last night we wanted something special and my lamb chops and Tracey's surf & turf were outstanding. Added to that some very reasonably priced cocktails and we were extremely pleased.Next time we are in that part of the hotel zone we will definitely return.

The concierge at our hotel, Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas & Spas, made our reservation for us. Came with my wife, sister-in law and her husband.We had:Oysters on the half-shellMadero Salad - Organic lettuce, spinach, avocado, tomato, hearts of palm, mushrooms and Goat cheese, with our special french dressingCaesar - Prepared tableside with the traditional recipe. Each romaine lettuce piece was individually dressed, then topped with croutons and Parmesan cheeseEmpanadas - One with meat (made with beef) and one with cheese; try with the different sauces.  Still Best Restaurant In Cancun, maybe in all of Mexico
We visit Cancun at least once a year sometimes twice and Puerto Madera is and has been in the past the best restaurant we frequent. Service and food are excellent prices are reasonable for a 5 star experience.

Amazing service and food! Manuel (Alex) took amazing care of us and suggested a great wine to go with our meal. I had the the rib eye and my husband had the tenderloin. Both were cooked perfectly. The house potatoes and grilled asparagus were also amazing. We didn’t have room for dessert so just had another glass of wine :-)

 Lovely ambiance and Good food
Puerto Madero was delicious ! And the ambiance was busy and picturesque. It sits on the lagoon and has indoor outdoor seating . We enjoyed the food but struggled a bit with the language barrier trying to clarify food allergies and what to avoid in the kitchen . Otherwise it was a nice dinner in Cancun. Will definitely go back .

 Incredible!
Well I really didn't expect this type of quality food in the hotel district, but wow! Our server Ruben made us feel at home and his suggestions were superb. I am definitely going back before I leave.

 One of the best dining experiences ever!
I am so mad that I didn't take pictures. I went to dinner with my wife, mom, and a good family friend. I ordered the skirt steak, my wife had the lobster bisque and tenderloin brochette, Mom had Tuna, Chuck had Alaskan King crab tortellini and lobster bisque... we had some sides and started with the oysters Rockefeller. Hands down, this is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. I know and love fine dining, and this was reasonably priced awesomeness. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. I cant put into words what this place is like. All I can say... add it to your list of places to go.

 Wow. Simply wow.
My husband and I chose this place for our last dinner in Cancun. We were greeted and shown to our table that overlooked the lagoon at sunset. Our waiter was Iloefonso and a young trainee J-------. Both were beyond excellent. I was attentive and quick with quests while J, when he wasn't busy, waited quietly nearby and anticipated needs. Truly, they were both above average as waiters being friendly, respectful and attentive.The food was incredible. I had the tuna and my husband the surf and turf. My husband said it was one of the best lobsters he's ever had. (His exact words were I want to kiss the chef) In addition my tuna was perfect, being both buttery and flavorful. Our drinks were delicious and potent! The desert was artfully present and clearly homemade. The coffee strong and not bitter.My husband and I travel often through Asia, America, and Europe this was quite possible one of the best overall experiences we have ever had in terms of ambiance, food, and wait staff. Highly recommended.

 Amazing Food
My partner took me here for my Birthday meal, the food was fantastic steak perfectly cooked, delicious lobster tail and garlic potato's. Service was excellent and the restaurant was lovely we sat outside overlooking the harbour which was very nice. Only wish we had one of these Restaurants in the UK.

First of all, service was over the top. The staff was genuinely gracious and hospitable. I felt they were eager to tell me all that was great about their restaurant and their enthusiasm told me they enjoyed working there.My NY Strip Steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked to temperature. The sauteed onions were a nice addition. The Cream Spinach was excellent.I look forward to returning for another great meal.

Having dinner with a view of the sea is in itself is a great experience ! Throw into that a varied menu and excellent service. I ordered a martini and it was made table side. Quite a show and yes, it did come out well shaken made with a fine class of vodka. I ordered Black Cod for my main entree which was over the top. My first time to try this fish was no disappointment . I suggest you venture out to check out this fine dinning experience and enjoy your dinner by the sea.

My hubby took me to Puerto Madero for a surprise birthday dinner this past weekend and as ALWAYS it was fabulous. It really never lets me down. I shared a provoleta and an empanda; both awesome and then I had my favorite NY Strip steak, medium rare and it came to me perfectly grilled. They also surprised me with a piece of cake, a song and lots of cheers. We had a wonderful dinner. Can't wait till my next visit to this great restaurant.

 Do not miss.
One of my fav restaurants in Cancun and D.F. You MUST get their sashimi sampler and, when in season, the Giant Clams Chocolate. The seafood, steaks, and sides are out of this world. Not to miss the creamed spinach w/artichoke hearts. The service is super attentive and provides great wine recommendations if one is not familiar with wines from Argentina.

 Great food, great service!
We were in Cancun staying at the JW Marriott hotel and discovered Puerto Madero, located a few minutes away. We discovered the restaurant 3 days before our departure and went on the 3 evenings. We were greatly impressed by the quality of the food. Everything tasted fabulous. We had the sashimi, the tuna, the steak, the catch of the day... I strongly recommend the black cod (it just melts in your mouth) and the sushi is fabulous! We had great service from Alonzo - who took care in recommending food and wine pairings. Just a great experience!

 Excellent restaurant
I have never had a better Wagyu steak in my life! From appetizers to entree the food and especially the service was above 5 stars. I do not write such review often but this restaurant deserves it. The French fries were cut fresh and fried only Belgians do. My wife had the seafood rolls and they were great. Everything from wine pairings to excellence in service was above expectations! Yes would go again.

 Wonderful meal
We came to this restaurant with a large group and they were extremely accommodating. The food was delicious and the service was great. My husband and I both had steaks and they were cooked properly and seasoned well. I especially enjoyed the razor clam appetizer.I would definitely recommend this place for a great steak dinner.

 Magnificent meal!!
My girlfriend and I went to dining, we hear good comments about the restaurant but we decided to try ourselves and we weren't disappointed we have a terrific experience. Since you arrive everyone it's super friendly, our waiter was Justino great service, he make great suggestions on food and drinks. The food was amazing really well cooked and fresh. The drinks were really taste and perfectly mix. We really recommend to visit this place when you visit cancun. Great meal. Thank everyone.

 Excellent! Delicious! Full!
This restaurant was superb. The portions were huge, the steaks very well done. The sides were excellent as well. We sat out facing the water and a view of Cancun. It was an amazing experience. The staff were friendly and attentive and the service was quick.

 Excellent Restaurant
I have eaten here a few times. This is a top of the line restaurant. Everything here is excellent. Food, service, wine list, atmosphere. I would suggest reservations for this place. That was my mistake. ALthough, I only had to wait an hour, it was worth it.

This restaurant was amazing! The food, the ambiance, and the staff were all great! We sat outside and had a beautiful view of the sunset. I had the surf and turf and I would definitely recommend. Also had the cheesecake which was delicious as well. Our server Ildefonso was very attentive and treated our every needs. Would definitely recommend! I will be back to eat at Puerto Madero again!

 Best food in Riviera Maya but...
We went for a dinner (8/9/2017) as we were coming back from one of the trips hence why we weren't dressed too smart - the receptionist didn't even responded when we greeted him by the entrance but looked at us disrespectfully instead. One for you management.Despite very poor start the rest of the staff was excellent. Food - simply excellent. Best way steak in my life.Prices - it's definitely not cheap.The restaurant itself looks very impressive and it even has a private marina.If it wouldn't be for the incident with the receptionist I would only praise the place but when I am spending $300 on a meal I honestly expect perfection.Despite delicious food we left with a bad taste.

 Constant Quality
I have been to this restaurant many times over the years and what I like is that they are constant with their quality, the premises are well kept and clean, service is good although it can do just a little bit better but it's understandable as they are normally very busy.The food can also do a little better for the price, however the portions are generous.The drinks are fairly priced and the atmosphere is very nice.Overall I think it stays as one of the best dining options in cancun, specially for animal protein seekers.

 Surprise surprise!!!
We were in town on vacation, and after several days of all-inclusive dining, we wanted something different. An employee in the hotel recommended it highly. I usually don't order steaks when I'm not in my home state of Texas because I've been disappointed too many times. Fortunately, Puerto Madero did not disappoint! It was excellent. My woman had the Surf and Turf, while I ate the Chilean Sea Bass. Everything was excellent from the food to the service.

 Not cheap but the place and the food is great!
Not for people that go in a budget as you can eat for half the price somewhere else, but the food is delicious. I went with my family, we were 19 and the only complain we had was that we were not hungry enough to finish all the food. Good service and the place is very nice and clean.

 Great place for Cancun
We stayed at the Ritz Carlton, cross the street and we went to this restaurant 3/4 times during our stay. Mostly out of practicality but also because it was pretty good. Very nice restaurant, open BBQ kitchen, tables on patio facing the lagoon and very friendly attitude from the waiters.It is an Argentinean restaurant, so beef is king. Things we really like are their empanadas, chorizo, simple green salad, filet mignon and other pieces of beef, pasta with ragu sauce, seafood pasta. Unfortunately their ceasar salad (with dressing made table side) is absolutely awful, tons of dressing for few salad leaves and without any flavors, to avoid at any cost. Meringue desert with mango/strawberries sauce is great.We loved this place, it is not cheap (around $140 for 3) but nothing is cheap in Cancun and specially with all tourists but Puerto Madero is a winner-Great place!

 This is not right and against the law
Last night, a party of four of us had a very pleasant experience at this restaurant until the bill came. I have to say, the food was above average, every dish was presented in an amazing fashion and the service and professionalism was impeccable. However, I have said this to future patrons before..."THE TIP IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE INCLUDED ONTO YOUR BILL"..A tip is to the discretion of the customer and not mandatory...(The Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs (DLCA) Commissioner-designee Devin Carrington has placed on notice restaurants that include mandatory gratuity fees as part of meals purchased by patrons, warning them to either stop the practice altogether or make clear whether or not the gratuity is a part of the service offered.). In fact I will go a step further and emphatically state "it is against the law" and restaurants are not supposed to do this and those who do, like Puerto Madero, should not be allowed too. Needless to say, stupid me did not say anything as not to cause an embarrassment to my guest and payed the bill with an unlawful 20% tip which put me in a bad mood..To put the icing on the cake, three items we asked for that were on the menu they did not have. I mean after all, a high end restaurant such as this, which by the way, was not cheap by any means, should at least have what they claim too on the menu.

 Bustling place
We had dinner here during our vacation. The food is really good and they do accommodate those with food allergies well. I just feel this restaurant is trying to do it all. From the sports tv's in the corners to the the fire grilled steak in plain view of all. It is a bustling place. If you want a quiet intimate dinner this is not the place for you. Many people wait on you and there are always waiters streaming by. Saying all that the food was great and the service was perfect. This place will remain on our list.

 Amazing view, good food & service
Been here with a couple of friends.Amazing atmosphere thanks to the location and the unique view of the "Nuchupte Lagoon".The sunset was memorable.I ordered Tenderloin, my wife order lobster and a steak, our friends unfortunately I don't remember.The presentation of the food was amazing the food it self was good.The service was nice and fast.They gave us a special treatment as we live in Cancun and we really appreciate it.Relation food quality and price is no so good. The place is really pricey and we all agreed that is because the location, the view and the service but not the food.We will be back again.Thank you.

 Good bu expenssive
Good food,gooe wiew,good ambiance but expensive. We were happy at Cancun downtown local restaurant to find genuine mexican food with reasonable price.. Taco and cerveza are always best couple for me..

In fact I will go a step further and emphatically state "it is against the law" and restaurants are not supposed to do this and those who do, like Puerto Madero, should not be allowed too. Needless to say, stupid me did not say anything as not to cause an embarrassment to my guest and payed the bill with an unlawful 20% tip which put me in a bad mood..To put the icing on the cake, three items we asked for that were on the menu they did not have. I mean after all, a high end restaurant such as this, which by the way, was not cheap by any means, should at least have what they claim too on the menu.

 Bustling place
We had dinner here during our vacation. The food is really good and they do accommodate those with food allergies well. I just feel this restaurant is trying to do it all. From the sports tv's in the corners to the the fire grilled steak in plain view of all. It is a bustling place. If you want a quiet intimate dinner this is not the place for you. Many people wait on you and there are always waiters streaming by. Saying all that the food was great and the service was perfect. This place will remain on our list.

 Amazing view, good food & service
Been here with a couple of friends.Amazing atmosphere thanks to the location and the unique view of the "Nuchupte Lagoon".The sunset was memorable.I ordered Tenderloin, my wife order lobster and a steak, our friends unfortunately I don't remember.The presentation of the food was amazing the food it self was good.The service was nice and fast.They gave us a special treatment as we live in Cancun and we really appreciate it.Relation food quality and price is no so good. The place is really pricey and we all agreed that is because the location, the view and the service but not the food.We will be back again.Thank you.

 Good bu expenssive
Good food,gooe wiew,good ambiance but expensive. We were happy at Cancun downtown local restaurant to find genuine mexican food with reasonable price.. Taco and cerveza are always best couple for me..

Puerto Madeira is a reliably good steak restaurant in serious competition with Harry's and Cambalache on Kukulcan Blvd. It's still my favorite but only by a hair. (Maybe not the best analogy for a restaurant.) My wife and I recently shared the Caesar salad, rib eye, crab salad, soufflé potatoes and grilled mixed vegetables. Kudos to Carlos for his expert tableside preparation of the Caesar salad. (He's been there 12 years and we've previously had him as our waiter.) The rib eye was done perfectly (usually not our experience at Harry's) and the soufflé potatoes are a delicious and fun side. The crab salad was outstanding - mostly crab in a light, flavorful dressing. The grilled vegetables are very good but so large a portion that it's overkill with everything else (and the corn on the cob is still inedible), so I always take them back to the Westin and use them as part of a pasta salad later in the week. Add attentive service and a nice atmosphere to make Puerto Madeira one of our favorites in the Hotel Zone.

 Not cheap but the place and the food is great!
Not for people that go in a budget as you can eat for half the price somewhere else, but the food is delicious. I went with my family, we were 19 and the only complain we had was that we were not hungry enough to finish all the food. Good service and the place is very nice and clean.

 Great place for Cancun
We stayed at the Ritz Carlton, cross the street and we went to this restaurant 3/4 times during our stay. Mostly out of practicality but also because it was pretty good. Very nice restaurant, open BBQ kitchen, tables on patio facing the lagoon and very friendly attitude from the waiters.It is an Argentinean restaurant, so beef is king. Things we really like are their empanadas, chorizo, simple green salad, filet mignon and other pieces of beef, pasta with ragu sauce, seafood pasta. Unfortunately their ceasar salad (with dressing made table side) is absolutely awful, tons of dressing for few salad leaves and without any flavors, to avoid at any cost. Meringue desert with mango/strawberries sauce is great.We loved this place, it is not cheap (around $140 for 3) but nothing is cheap in Cancun and specially with all tourists but Puerto Madero is a winner-Great place!

Well you can't beat a good steak or slab of fish. The prices are normal for the US. Service can be very good or so, so. Dinner was excellent, the bread was fresh, the food was fresh. The steak was perfect.

 Best Martinis !!!
The best Martinis I've tried were for sure in London !! Here is the second place. We tried 14 different flavors; Lychee, Apple, Grapefruit, Strawberry, Raspberry, Mango, Cucumber, Ginger, Coconut, Chocolate, Espresso, and some others. A M A Z I N G !!! But you need to order the 4 oz size !!!The food it's very nice too, better the seafood that the steak, the lobster is amazing . If you prefer Steakhouse go to Harry's next door!

 Best food in Riviera Maya but...
We went for a dinner (8/9/2017) as we were coming back from one of the trips hence why we weren't dressed too smart - the receptionist didn't even responded when we greeted him by the entrance but looked at us disrespectfully instead. One for you management.Despite very poor start the rest of the staff was excellent. Food - simply excellent. Best way steak in my life.Prices - it's definitely not cheap.The restaurant itself looks very impressive and it even has a private marina.If it wouldn't be for the incident with the receptionist I would only praise the place but when I am spending $300 on a meal I honestly expect perfection.Despite delicious food we left with a bad taste.

 Constant Quality
I have been to this restaurant many times over the years and what I like is that they are constant with their quality, the premises are well kept and clean, service is good although it can do just a little bit better but it's understandable as they are normally very busy.The food can also do a little better for the price, however the portions are generous.The drinks are fairly priced and the atmosphere is very nice.Overall I think it stays as one of the best dining options in cancun, specially for animal protein seekers.

 Surprise surprise!!!
We were in town on vacation, and after several days of all-inclusive dining, we wanted something different. An employee in the hotel recommended it highly. I usually don't order steaks when I'm not in my home state of Texas because I've been disappointed too many times. Fortunately, Puerto Madero did not disappoint! It was excellent. My woman had the Surf and Turf, while I ate the Chilean Sea Bass. Everything was excellent from the food to the service.

Let me start by saying I'm the type of diner that usually feels for servers and realizes they can have bad days and be off their game. I also care more about the meal than the service. The awful service we had at this place is really hard to look past though. Easy getting a reservation for 2 adults and 3 kids and we were seated promptly. It all went south after that with the service. Stood there for 10 minutes holding a 2 year old waiting on a high chair. Spent another 5 waiting on the server to come to the table. Immediately ordered bottles water for the kids as they were really thirsty from being out and about and let him know to please bring that out asap. Asked about kids options and he rambled off basically shrimp or filet. Ok, no biggie, let's do the filet. Took forever getting the drink order which included a bottle of Coke. I noticed underneath my ice a ring of dark brown color that I initially thought was the design of the cup. The waiter pours my soda in the glass and I realized that what I saw was actually coffee at the bottom of my glass. Really gross sipping something you have no clue where it came from. I informed him and he didn't really seem to care. Another 5 minutes later a new glass and Coke come out. Ordered tuna taco appetizer which was the special which were AMAZING. Ceaser salad tableside was good as well although our waiter decided to pawn off the salad making midway to a helper to go tend to someone more important. Ordered the large center cut ribeye for 2. Steak was cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection. Creamed spinach was really good, potato soufflé was glorified basket of chips. Had to ask the waiter multiple times for water that we were paying 7 dollars a bottle for and he just seemed like he didn't care. Had to ask the helper waiter for a dessert menu. 20 mins later, still nobody at our table. It took the lady at the table next to us who clearly also had bad service to summon her waiter to tell him that we were being ignored and we needed our waiter. He finally walks over and I let him know we were ready to order dessert 15 mins before, however we were completely ignored and needed the check. Again, he didn't seem to care but was quick to ask for a 15% tip. I usually tip in the 20-25% range and it took everything in me to even give him the 15. I was so annoyed I didn't really pay attention to the bill until I got back to the hotel. Kids meals were 22 dollars a piece. Again, no biggie as it was filet, but my wife noticed a table with kids eating burgers which wasn't even an option given to us. Also, charged extra for the French fries on the 22 dollar kids meal and an extra bottle of water was added. This was easily the worst service we had at a restaurant in a long long time and we eat out a ton. Had it not been for the awful service, the food was easily worthy of 5 stars. I just expected wayyyyyy more out of a 240 dollar meal with kids and no alcohol involved. Would I go, probably based on the actual food.

There were 8 of us and they sat us at a round table that really is for 6 people. Our salads were good as usual but when the steaks came it was a disaster. They came on regular plates rather than the usual hot grills. This was because there was absolutely no room on the table. One person's lamb chops were raw inside and so was a skirt steak. The other two steaks were cooked okay but were already cold. When they brought back the lamb chops they were still raw in the middle. There wasn't enough room on the table for our sides and then we had to ask 2 or 3 time for salt and pepper and condiments for our baked potatoes. We also had three different bottles of wine which we had to get up and serve ourselves. They tried to make things right but it was was too little too late. It's too expensive of a meal to have to deal with all of that. Will not be returning.

Upon arrival we were seated and visited by someone who brought by a box of Saran wrapped meats and fish on display to walk us through the cuts of meat and sizes of lobster. He kept referring to our menu after discussing each piece of meat in the box. It might not have bothered us as much if it didn't take as long as it did, additionally it felt insulting like we wouldn't know the difference between a ribeye and filet and it also felt insulting because we can read a menu and didn't need to have it read to us. The food was okay. It certainly wasn't bad, but there was nothing outstanding about it. I ordered my beef medium well (don't judge :-) ) but it was just barely medium rare. My husband's tuna came out just right. Overall we were very disappointed and won't be returning. Based on the overall reviews, it seems like our experience was an isolated one.

We did not have appetizers as we wanted to enjoy our meal.My husband had surf and turf with lobster I had the jumbo lobster and my granddaughter had 14oz tenderloin. We had a $42 bottle of wine and 2 sprites. One order of cream spinach and an order of mashed potatoes. We didn't have desert as we were all full. When the $400 U.S. dollar bill came we were shocked . I started to question the bill and the waiter kept saying it was right. We paid the bill and I found the menu online a few days later and we were ripped off for $200 . Stay away from this place if you don't want the same thing to happen to you
