Great food, beautiful setting, attentive service
We dined at Terra Nostra twice during our 5 night stay at the Nizuc. It was delicious! Both evenings, we ate on the beautiful patio overlooking the mangroves - it was lovely. We really enjoyed the delicious pastas (especially loved the squid ink pasta with seafood special) and terrific appetizers (loved the grilled octopus and the panzanella salad). They were happy to make a simple pizza for our daughter. Very attentive service both evenings. We look forward to returning!

We loved the gazpacho, which was very delicate but tasty, the pizza and the grilled chicken. The service was very good and Chef Daniel stopped by our table.

Experienced Italian chef guarding the quality at this Mediterranean-Mexican fusion. Do try the Sunday brunch, high-quality buffet with e.g. oysters to the champagne and Iberico Spanish cured ham.

Overall great food with tentative service and a chef that truely cares about the patrons experience.
The pizza was fantastic! We especially loved watching them tend to the fire wood grill meticulously moving the pizza around and around. Try the mascarpone and fig pizza for sure. Everything we put into our mouths was amazing. Chef Daniele Tonin was out and active in participating with the entire experience making it so much fun.

 Perfectly splendid
Large group of us (12) enjoyed a Friday evening at Terra Nostra. 9PM reservations and we were seated promptly. We ordered a variety of pizzas as appetizers for all to share, and I do believe we tried every entree. Absolutely delish! The shrimp and salmon were my favorites. The view of the pool was surreal. We had outstanding service as a large group. They sat out group away from other diners so that we could enjoy being a "group".

 Terra Nostra's fabulous Italian cuisine
Our meal at Terra Nostra was so delicious the first night at Nizuc that we went back again for more. The beautiful views of the pool coupled with an impressive Italian cuisine made for a tasteful and memorable dining experience. The service was incredible and they were happy to accommodate our dietary needs. I loved the extensive wine menu and we devoured the delicious bread basket filled with a terrific assortment of baked goods. The pastas and pizzas were fabulous as well as the array of salads and entrees. We had 2 glorious dinners at Terra Nostra!

 Chef really cares
I just came back from a nice long honeymoon in the Nizuc resort - and Terra Nostra was without a doubt my favorite restaurant. We only eat kosher, so eating away from home can be a pain, but the moment we walked in the hostess introduced us to Miriam the chef and all was well. She was knew her stuff about our dietary restrictions and went above and beyond the call of duty by creating fun, creative, and delicious meals for us. I'm still thinking about her eggplant stacks and house made gnocchi with vodka sauce... mmm And the chimichurri house bread! Holy cow.

 Great true Italian food
Excellent outside seating with a view of the gorgeous pool. Tables are reasonably far apart so you can talk to each other, rather than having to bark over a deafening background noise level, which has become customary in so many even very expensive restaurants. We went there three times during our stay at the Nizuc Resort and Spa because the food just tasted excellent. It was also true Italian food, not the North American version where everything is breaded or drowned in what passes as tomato sauce. The wine list is worth an extra look - it's clearly carefully and thoughtfully selected, and you will be assisted by an expert in your choice. The service was beyond impeccable.

Sitting close to a beautiful pool (choice of indoor or outdoor) the decor is perfect. An extensive menu of top end italian cuisine which you will no doubt love. Often you are approached by the head chef who spends 5 minuets with you seeking your feedback and experience. A place you must visit

Great Mediterranean food through every single dish. The focaccia is pretty fabulous and you can pretty much smell as soon as you enter the restaurant. The space is very nice, set by one of their infinity pools and offering indoor and outdoor poolside seating,

 The Best Casual at Nizuc
This restaurant is probably the most casual at Nizuc. All of the restaurants state, "resort elegance" attire, but since I think this also gets the most kids, its the most laid back. The food also has that Italian family style feeling. There were a lot of pastas on the menu, which we didn't really want, but they also had a wonderful fresh tuna, which is seemingly a bit challenging to find at Nizuc restaurants (reasonably priced). Here though, it was cooked perfectly, and quite good.I could have done without the buratta though. For a nice, causal evening, in an incredible setting right along their infinity pool -- adjacent to the Mangrove area....this is a really nice spot.

Located at the Nizuc resort where we were staying. The Nizuc is5 stars all the way. After 20 years visiting Italy our food expectations at Terra Nosra were not met. The food was adequate but could be better based on previous Italian restaurants experience in Cancun.I was told the chef was Italian but he was not there. The aptizers and initial dishes were very good as well as the seafood risotto. The lobster was overdone and salty so were the scampi. I did share my observations with the manager and hopefully they will make the necessary adjustments. The place is nice and the service is excellent.

Excellent meal and a great atmosphere
We came to this restaurant during our stay at Nizuc. First thing that happened after we were seated was that our waiter placed my wife's purse and sweater in the mini coat rack that they have at every table, nice touch. The menu here is mediterranean, centering on italian food. I had the special which was a vegetarian risotto. You can never find a vegetarian version anywhere but they had one! We also had the Eggplant as an appetizer and CREMA DI POMODORO soup. Everything was wonderful, the one down side was that we weren't able to eat outside as they warned us the mosquitoes were out in force.

My family is staying at Nizuc Resort. Terra nostra is one of the restaurants in the resort. The veal cheek was superb...melt in your mouth. My 10 yr old son enjoyed the lasagna from the adult menu, and my daughter finished the penne with cream sauce. On another night, the seabass and the seafood risotto were very good. I didn't like the bruschetta much. The menu is alittle limited, but food was great

 La cucina della terra d'Italia
Yesterday night we had a dinner at to the restaurant terra nostra. The location is amazing but the best is the kichen of the chef Daniele Tonin. Is not very simple to find in mexico a cuisine so good and so genuine. In this restaurant we disovered delicious taste! Wonderful the entree "gnocco al tartufo bianco" and so good the "risotto allo scoglio", much better than many restaurant in Italy! Even a simple bresaola and parmisan became creation on the plate with two different texture of parmizan cheese. We came back of sure in this restaurant for the plasure to see again chef Daniel, very kind man. Finally The price is conformed to the resort and to the quality food.

 Excellent food, terrible location
We dined here on May 6th and we ordered, Chilean Sea Bass, Shrimp Scampi and Swordfish. The swordfish was undercooked and very tough so we did return it and requested another Chilean Sea Bass which was excellent. The shrimp was excellent as well. The service was outstanding as well. Unfortunately, I cannot give a good rating due to the location. The restaurant bumps up against a swamp and I have over 30 mosquito bites from dining here. It was the worst I have ever experienced. We dined inside due to receiving some bites outside but they keep the doors open to allow the ocean breeze in which also allows the mosquito's in. It was a miserable dining experience and I would not recommend it to anyone unless you enjoy mosquito bites.

The setting is perfect: Incredible view, incredible luxury, incredible exclusivity.Having dined at Indochine the night before, I expected the same amazing, faultless service and food that would leave me breathless.Unfortunately it was not the case. The service was a bit slow, and the time between starters and mains took no less than 15-20 minutes. The dishes were overpriced for what they are, you cannot sell Burrata mozzarella for more than a good Bufala mozzarella would be elsewhere. And the portion was ridiculously small. There was no squid-ink in the pasta (al nero di sepia) which was disappointing. Just the pasta was black, not the sauce (which is technically incorrect). The puddings / desserts were still frozen, which is a shame as tiramisu and pannacotta should always be served in room temperature. Disappointing.

 Not good, really, not good
Went there from Cancun (quite a trip through all Zona Hoteliera). Vale parks your car and takes you by golf cart to the restaurant. We were first guests and they struggled to find a reservation like the restaurant will be full in a moment. Five tables were with guests. Waiters are not the best trained. They were trying their best, but at no avail. Restaurant is at the darker side, modernly designed, no soul, no air conditioning, too. Or it was poor like almost all experience. Spanish language was not a problem, waiters were. Extremely overpriced any decent vino (hundred for a bottle). Tekila not from the best suppliers. Food was not bad, nicely arranged, but nothing special about it. Food was not too expensive but considering setting and the service, it was. The cook deserves more good words, but he would need a better support from all the crew. Poor air conditioning did not help. Paid 3600 Pesos for four people. vale golf cart picked us up. vale brought the car, and then it was a real challenge to find the exit from the dark parking area. No signs at the road. Will not be back.

We ate here after trying all the other restaurants on Nizuc property. It's a bit more removed from the other restaurants but still charming atmosphere in keeping with Nizuc standards. We felt this is the best "kid friendly " restaurant here. Pizzas, Pastas, and more reasonably priced options. I was disappointed at the service. It took almost an hour for our main dishes (both pasta dishes) to be served. I don't know if there was a problem with the order or if ours was forgotten as everyone around us was being served (those who came after us and larger groups). But there was little explanation nor offer to placate while we waited. I appreciated the gluten free pasta availability. My scampi pasta had about 5 shrimp and lots of pesto. It didn't have the buttery, garlic lemony sauce typical of scampi. Very oily tasting. I ate the shrimp (which bordered on being over cooked) and left the pasta. That averaged a little more than $6 per shrimp. Gluten free bread was very tasty though. The other entre was the duck. My dinner date said it was a bit cold (disappointed again after an extended wait to be served) and not very flavourful. The fish soup as a starter was good and beautifully served. Several tables had pizza which looked tasty. We won't visit here again.
